Orienteering 41:13 [4] **** 3.38 km (12:12 / km) +115m 10:25 / km
spiked:12/14c shoes: new balance

Middle, Green-Z, West Point, 7th out of 74.

This was fun, I missread the map a few times (contours going up not down) but it didn't lead to any big mistakes. I got alot of running in for something so complex. Over all I did well.

Road Run 39:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:45 / mi) +100m 9:03 / mi
shoes: new balance

This was probably a bad idea, but I went on a run the day before going to West Point. I was trying to take it easy but I still went under 10 min/mile. This made me very worried that I would be stiff at West Point, it ended out I wasn't.

Practice Orienteering (old course) 1:27:00 [3] *** 6.25 km (13:55 / km) +230m 11:45 / km
spiked:9/10c shoes: new balance

This was an old orange map from French Creek, back about 3 years ago when they had the DVOA long-O champs there. And wow was it long. The map scale was 1-15 and because it was so outdated too it was kinda hard to read at times. The winning time back then was 1 hour and 19 minutes which means I would have come in second. Maybe I would have came in first if I had the controls out for me which would have helped me on my only non-spiked control. But as it is I came in second. And to show just how long ago it was... Dylan Singly was making first place on yellow while Zack Barker was almost in the back (beating only an F-80) with a pace of 29:50 and Chase and Corey Thatcher got second and first on white while in the age categories M-10 and M-12, respectively. How things change.

Update: I was all wrong about what event this was, The winning time was actually 1:50:28 which means I won by a long shot. oops
