Cross-country skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Oh man, super fun morning of skiing! Drove all the way to Old Chelsea when I realized I had forgotten my boots. Back to town, grab them, parked at P9 and had to hammer up Fortune Parkway to find Nicky and Lampi.

The parc was full of super fast skiers, including a CDN nat team guy skiing with a girl with a SWE national team jacket. They were fast.

Awesome conditions, still on good skis.

Cross-country skiing 1:15:00 [3]

Ski from P7. Up Ridge and then around the Fortune Racing Trails which were really well groomed and in great shape. However, they are still very very hard. Especially the uphills. After suffering around them, out and back on Ridge.

17 deg on Friday so need to get more skiing in! Actually potential low of -12 on Friday so who knows what we'll be getting.

Cross-country skiing 1:05:00 [3]

Skiing at Gai-Luron https://skigailuron.ca/en/ in Saint-Jérôme about 45 north of Montreal. Awesome old school ski centre and site of the 1990 Eastern Canadian Orienteering Champs by Viking! they still have not 1 but 2 O maps on the walls of the chalet. They recommended blue extra but no way that would have worked with so much ice in the snow, so went with Rode Violet as that's as warm as I had. Wasn't too bad in the shade, pretty slick in the sun as it was super glazed.

Woods still look great. So much of the giant 1:15,000 map has been developed by could still do a good Middle or Relay in there, similar to Canmore the big trails make it confusing.

Would need a good negotiator to deal with owners. I can't remember what Pierre Brassard and I did when we organized a Viking event there in mid-2000s.
