Orienteering Race race 45:00 [4] *** 6.4 km (7:02 / km)

First Wed Night event of the year, at Hawrelak Park in pretty chilly weather. Was treating it as a tempo sort of run, but I also was starving after work and had a bbq chicken sandwich which was a poor choice. I also did very little (as in zero) warm-up and my body reminded me that this was also rather unwise.

Course was pretty tame early, it's sort of set like a middle on 1:7500 map. Some serious climb all put together at once.

This would be a good area for sprint or mass start race.

And other big news, Geraint has managed to convince the Board of the club to start using some SI at the Wed night events. Awesome news!

Running long 1:32:00 [2]

Long trail run in the river valley, bounced between zone 1 and 2. Threw in some single track and stairs to mix it up. Trails are really dry out there.

Had a chat with the FastTraxFlunky about training in Edmonton and I'm going to put in a request for some courses being drawn by others around the country to help us out. As well as training exercises. Vancouver, I'm looking in your area....

Put summer wax on three pairs of skis, I guess I should still do this to my rock skis as well. Might be done with skiing, but I have a feeling that there will be more still to come.
