Orienteering Race 3:00:00 [4]
Challenge and Gats race in Wakefield.
Great day in the woods. I think this might be Orienteering Ottawa's best season ever.
Raced with Mike Iles and we both went with a realistic expectation of our fitness.
I went down hard once on my right ankle, other than that, body held up.
We got more than we were originally going to get, only the 60 at the very end did we miss that should have gotten (I was toast and thought we were out of time, but could have made it). If we had wanted more, would have needed to be moving faster overall.
Placed 3rd Open Men for the 3 Hour, wonder if we could have been Masters, but good to keep the young guys honest.
Amazing woods, excellent course, great organizing all around.
Oh and then Orienteering Quebec meeting afterwards. Somehow I'm now in charge of creating a committee to find a new OQ logo. 80s Mark Adams perhaps?
