Cross-country skiing (Skating) 1:30:00 [3]

Ottawa has mega snow right now. I pulled into P7 and Megan pulled in along side me and convinced me to come ski on the Fortune Racing trails as she did an interval workout. I was going to join her, but at this point, I just need time on skis.

Man those trails are hard! As Moxely always says: you have to be in shape to race well on these trails. Lots of uphills and dodgy downhills that you can't rest on.

The sauna and discussion of Swedish coffee culture helped afterwards.

A wee run after work. We could use some more snow post rain!

Running 55:00 [2]

Warm night in Ottawa so went for a run. Very sloppy snow, but footing wasn't too bad.

But I'm so still feeling the classic ski from Saturday. As a ski coach once told me, that will go away when you get into shape. Ski coaches are the worst.

Cross-country skiing (skate) 1:35:00 [3]

Skate ski from P7. So much snow. Decent grooming, although they need to get out there now that it has stopped coming down. Time to put away the rock skis.

Note

I watched the first episode of Nobel, new Norwegian TV show:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4591834/

It is very good. Although hard to take stressful situations serious while listening to soldiers talk in Norwegian.

This could easily be made in Canada. Except Canada doesn't do this sort of thing.

Cross-country skiing (classic) 1:30:00 [1]

After checking out what will soon be my new bike, went for a classic ski with Chris. Super soft, very little grip so mostly arms.

Ottawa has so much snow.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:15:00 [2]

First ski of the season! Went from P10 on the old Madshus which have not been waxed in a long time. At one point those were the fastest skis in town. Now they are probably the softest skate skis in Ottawa.

I felt like the weakest person in town. No training while my hamstring healed and then food poisoning in Boston did not help.

But now, ski season is on!
