Note
(sick)

Mega sore throat all day

Running race 43:08 [5] 10.0 km (4:19 / km)

National Cap 10km Road Race.

Not the race I wanted, although considering how bad I felt all day, I survived.

Split 5km at 20:20 feeling super easy, so that's probably a sign I should stick to racing 5kms. Kms 6-8 were pretty rough.

If I'd like to do better in road races, I need to run more road races, simple as that.

Running 55:00 [3]

Just a guess on time as this would include the warm up and cool down for the Tuesday Night Trail Action group.

Went from the Visitors Centre to the part of the Gats off Notch (near Dunn Rd) and did about a 5km loop, then back.

Felt super toast from a long day at work, but much better once I got going.

Just a wee run in the Don Valley

Sunday May 17, 2015 #

Running 45:00 [1]

Run in the Westdale trails.

Wednesday May 13, 2015 #

Running 45:00 [2]

Quick run after French class after a super busy day at work.

Running 1:15:00 [4]

Man, hard run! Camp Fortune to Western and back along trail 9. Muddy, slippery and mostly all uphill on the way out.

Felt totally dead during the first third doing all the climb, almost turned around and headed back. But, then got a second wind as I approached Western and felt great on the way back (shockingly this was during the net downhill portion).

Wednesday update: my legs are feeling it!

Cycling 1:00:00 [2]

Just a really nice gentle first ride of the year, on the crosser. Did not feel like going to the Orienteering as the MacKenzie King map is ancient and it hasn't been fun there in the past.

Discovered that my road shoes matched my frame and my socks!

Running 1:30:00 [3]

Hammer-fest run with Freddy and PeteQ. Mac-King Estate and back to Old Chelsea. Some serious hills. Warm day, felt pretty solid.

Tuesday May 5, 2015 #

Running 1:20:00 [3]

Tuesday Night Trail Run action, mostly around Pink Lake.

I seem to remember hearing about the Pink Lake map and events there (Quebec Champs?) Also remember it was not pleasant...

But this was a fun workout. Massive group, maybe close to 100.

Running 1:30:00 [3]

A rather warm, tough run with Freddy and Pete. Was only to be an hour but we choose our route poorly.

Man, great weekend for Canadian distance running! Two Canadian records fell, Natasha Wodak set a 10,000m record in 31:41:59 (also probably did considerable posing afterwards).

A dude I've never heard of Justyn Knight broke a Canadian record in the junior 5,000m running 13:34:86 beating Bruce Kidd’s record of 13:43:08 set 52 years ago! Knight is running for SyracuseU so we'll probably never see him again...

Also Alex Genest and Taylor Milne (both Speed River) qualified for the Olympics in the Steeple.

Also found out that J$ is living in Ottawa, start the Raid the Hammer planning!

Hiking 1:30:00 [1]

3 hour hike in the Gats on a lovely sunny day.

Parked at Meech, to Western and back. Trails were much drier than I expected.
