Running 1:00:00 [2]

Run in the valley before trying to have a productive start to the long weekend. The key word is try....

In 2000 Simon Whitfield won an Olympic gold medal in triathlon. 14 years ago.

The narrative goes that there should be a Whitfield Generation of kids growing up to be like Simon.

They should here be in Edmonton this weekend for World Champs and in their prime.

What went wrong?

Orienteering Training 1:00:00 [2]

Laurier Park Wed Night Event.

Now this wasn't exactly amazing training. Just didn't have my head in it to push very hard and was pretty slack. Also the woods were thick and rather unpleasant often. But, at least I got in before it started to rain.

Running 50:00 [3]

Run with Will day after his half. Always wise to take the opportunity to get a run in with a faster runner who's in rough shape.

We might be getting close to Peak-Attackpoint with the collection of threads that are active right now.

I might start one on socks just to help balance things out...

Cycling 1:15:00 [2]

Ride on the crosser. Really nice temp although a wee bit chilly to start with.

Running 1:10:00 [2]

Run from Will's place after work, through Whitemud. Felt good at times, felt poor at others. That Whitemud map will be thick, even when it is updated.

Then battled a Thule box that just doesn't look like its going to work on my car.

Running 1:10:00 [1]

Run with Will on a pretty warm Monday night in the valley. Only saw one Westdale XC OFSAA medalist out there (of course he recognized me).

Legs felt mega tight and toast by the end.

Cycling 1:30:00 [2]

Mountain bike ride with Will, much better than I remember on the single track.

Anytime the mosquitoes decide to leave Edmonton it would be fine with me.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Mountain bike ride in the valley. Nice temp for a ride but had to be careful with all the wee bugs.

Cycling 2:00:00 [1]

Really great cross ride with on Andrew Leach, pretty much the most well known energy-economist in Canada. Shockingly didn't tweet at all during the ride, which he's known to do.

Rather intimidating when the guy you barely know, but you knows he knows a bunch of good riders, shows up in a Spydertech kit.

Luckily I had no problems on the flats and uphills but my inexperience really showed on the downhills.

That WUOC thread has been interesting. How close to the podium would the American runners be at a US Champs?

Cycling 1:00:00 [2]

Just a wee ride on the cross bike on a lovely Saturday morning. Pretty chilly to start out but it is warming up.
