Running 1:15:00 [2]

Great run with Will along the river. Solid footing.

Real winter out there.

Running 45:00 [1]

One pretty chilly run down by the river! It's cold and dark here and keeps snowing! Good sign.

Running 1:30:00 [1]

Solid run with WC on a very grey snowy Edmonton morning. Pretty chilly to start, but fine once we got going.

We basically planned out the major highlights of the Edmonton 2013 season. Well, a couple weekends at least.

Running 55:00 [2]

Nice run with Angus on a chilly Saturday morning. Mostly Mill Creek area. Trails are in great condition.

Was sick for a good chunk of the week post NYC.

Success visit to NYC, went to the 9/11 Memorial which they got exactly right. Bought a cool shirt at REI which means I'm now a member of that.

Also included drinks with Barrable and group and then entertaining myself in the big city.

Orienteering Race race 15:54 [3]

So, like Gold in M35 eh! Makes up for not using the term "hoser" whilst on the mic this weekend. Long time coming for good races when it counts.

One of the last starters, few little dodgy bits early, Balter caught me halfway and we hammered from then, was running faster but couldn't out map read him.

I don't think the junior who set the Sprint got enough credit, great job.

Bailed in the area which sucked, but glad I didn't blow out my ankle which almost went on the fall.

Now in NYC on the hunt for deadly shoes.

Orienteering Race race 1:31:43 [5]

NAOC Long, almost didn't race because I'm fighting a cold, but super glad I did. Great woods & great course.

A bit sloppy early & caught by a guy named Vadelin early and we sort of were together the rest. Kept trying to drop him, but would then be sloppy.

Placed 3rd overall, 2nd NA. First ever NAOC medal, and first solid Long race in a while.

Orienteering Race race 58:34 [3]

Well not bad run, not great, but happy with it given lack of training & racing. Couple of issues, but no massive blow-ups.

Fourth North American, six overall.

Tor Gunnar Aksland had a wicked time at 36.

Orienteering Race 1:20:00 [4]

Really nice B Meet at Camp Fortune. Man, this is a tough area. Where the woods are nice, it's a great area (although you have to get the timing right with the leaves and lack of snow). Once OOC gets a new map, could have a really big meet here still.

Freddy's son Jacob went out on the Intermediate by himself and 2 hours later, made it back with a big smile on his face. He's 13 and would be a great addition to the junior program in Ottawa.

Running 1:10:00 [3]

Great trail run with Freddy from his place in Old Chelsea.

Gatineau Park looks about perfect this time of year.

Freddy had some interesting thoughts on Christine Sinclair's comments versus Nate Brennan at the Olympics.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Warm up for the Frank's Race, Sask Drive edition.

Felt ok, well didn't feel like I was "racing" as in I didn't feel in pain the whole time. Will get the exact time when they post it. Fun course.

Lots of snow all day in Edmonton, but above freezing, all melted.

Now to pack to fly to Ottawa on Thurs.

What's the right number of shoes to bring on a trip that combines meetings, running, Orienteering and strolling in NYC.

Running 45:00 [2]

Just a lovely sunny day in Edmonton and I waited until it was cold and dark to get a run in.

On the plus side, I now own a toaster and more importantly a great pair of vintage brogues. They are probably too heavy to take on the trip and I'm sure I'll do okay vintage shopping in NYC.

Running 1:30:00 [1]

Morning run with Will, lots of discussion on various projects here.

Stopped and checked out the cyclocross race which looked pretty awesome. Super technical. I'm not sure if it would be fun to race this or just non-stop having to focus.

Running 50:00 [3]

Run with Will after work on Friday.

Busy stressful week, new job starting after the eastern trip, will be an interesting time.

Orienteering Training 45:00 [3]

No clue on my real time as when i checked to see what time it was, I stopped my running time. Fun Night-O event done by Will. Ran with Spanish dude for a good chunk of it, both pushed it other, dude could run.

Such a good area for sprint or raid.

Running 45:00 [2]

Chilly run along the river after work. Didn't feel bad, didn't feel good.

Mulling over job offer within Alberta Energy. Very fancy title, great connections building opportunity across the country, but god knows what the actual work and payoff will be. Versus staying in current position which will be a great learning experience in management, but passing up the lead on the glamour file. Hmmmmm.....

By the way, anyone out there interested in driving a vehicle west this fall?
