Running 45:00 [1]

Run down by the river and then watched In Bruges which was an awesome movie. Colin Farrell was surprisingly good and Ralph Fiennes was even better. Even had jokes about Canadians. And a great line about Tottenham related to pergatory.

Orienteering Race 43:28 [3] *** 4.2 km (10:21 / km) +165m 8:39 / km
15c

Okay, I guess I should start logging some of this.

Basically rolled out of the car and ran this course and blew it early on control 2 as my mind so wasn't in it. Totally sucked on #8 as I strayed from my route. #14 is in a spot I've always had trouble for some reason. Same with the Biathlon trails, I can barely navigate them during the winter.
Looking forward to running this later in the summer.
The hills at the Nordic Centre are massive, no matter whether you're running or skiing.
This is pretty damn impressive operation by the Barebones crowd. Hopefully other clubs can follow this. I nominate Ottawa to do something like this in Parc Gatineau.

Cycling 3:15:00 [3]

Pretty much my first ever serious mountain bike ride. Rented bikes from Vien in Jasper and did the Valley of the 5 Lakes Trail.

Marc suggested renting a full-suspension Giant Pistol. Marc is a very wise man.

Awesome day for riding, great temperature.

Had a beer at the Whistle Stop afterward and then headed back to Hinton.

Running race 38:30 [4] *** 5.2 km (7:24 / km)
spiked:6/8c

Wed Night event at Blackfoot. Location was the end of the Birkie course and wow, very cool spot, I had no idea we had this. Good news, this is going to be a good spot to do some training for COCs as it's wide open pasture land. Bad new, this wasn't one of Geraint's better days of course setting. I think he could be setting too many of them this year and maybe could use a hand as the course had the technical elements of a long course, except it was 5.2km and only 8 controls, really simple navigating.

But, should be fun training later this year.

Hockey or Soccer (Ultimate) 30:00 [2]

Went to Edmonton Nordic practice which started off with a game of Ultimate.

Strength Training 30:00 [5]

Then Les got the medicine balls out and lots of core stuff with them. Man do the juniors in the club talk a lot.

Running intervals 12:00 [3]

6 times 2 minute intervals. Was suppose to keep it out of zone 4, which would have been getting close. Ran with Wil Hosford on these.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Cool down run at the end of practice.

Chatted with Les a bit about the CCC mess.

Strength Training (core) 25:00 [0]

More core strength in front of hockey. Wish the Jays game would have been tonight, sounded awesome.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Cross-Country Canada:

And Al Maddox's "retiring"? I think something is rotten in the state of Canmore.

Day one of wearing Crocs at work. Hopefully back to shoes tomorrow.

Strength Training (core) 20:00 [0]

Can't really wear shoes because of my blisters so did core strength in front of the news.

Also played softball but I figure that training done in Crocs shouldn't be logged.

Running 50:00 [1]

Wanted to go for a long run, but failed miserably. Just out of energy today.

Orienteering Race 41:25 [4] ***** 4.9 km (8:27 / km)
24c

Middle course at Terwillegar that Angela and Robert put on, really solid course. Lots of controls and the wide open area is super fast right now with the low grass.

Controls were right on the ground, had to be right there.

Had trouble with 8 (clump of trees in an open area that all look the same.)

Starting to get a flow in and out going, but still very static.
