Cross-country skiing long (classic skiing) 1:15:00 [2]

Classic skiing with my atomic no-wax since I was too lazy to wax. They were brutally slow, I have to get bindings on my new RC11 and start skiing on them. I skied trail 15 that Keski is going to go on. It's so narrow, I'm totally predictiong disaster, there will be many broken poles and pissed off skiers. Especially elite women are going to be stuck behind guys who go out too hard and burn out.

Cross-country skiing tempo (skating) 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Skate Boots

Skiing with Doug, Ad-Rock and Les from P7 to Champlain and back. Ridge was in awesome shape and pretty quick. I was feeling pretty tired at times, but had very good glide and could reel in Doug on the flats and especially the downhills.

Cross-country skiing long (skating) 1:30 [1]
shoes: Skate Boots

An evening ski along Ridge Road with CBH and Duncan. It was rock hard and very fast. I was on my feet all dat at Fresh Air, so it was fun to get out and move. CBH and I looked straight out of 92 with our skate technique probably.

Yoga (Power Yoga) 1:30:00 [1]

Power Yoga at Rama Lotus. My legs were hurting from yesterday's track workout, especially the calfs. Felt just all round weak, but much better after the yoga. I should really start doing this more.

Running intervals 10:00 [4]
shoes: Fila Mega Ugly Flats

I think there was a grand total of around 10 minutes of "on" intervals. I did 200m, 300m, and 500m. I would have done more, except I had to jet off to sit in traffic trying to get to work on time. Legs felt okay, not great, not bad.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 2070

Warm up/cool down at the Super Track indoor spot.

Cross-country skiing tempo (skating) 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Skate Boots

Skate ski at night, after missing a perfect ski day and not going until 5:30ish at night. It's really fast out there, skated from P7 Kingsmere up to Champlain Lookout and back, the majority of both along Ridge Road. My technique feels very poor, but able to move at a decent clip. I even waxed up the RCSs with a Rode purple before I went.

Bought apres ski coffee from Chelsea Porn Star.

Cross-country skiing long (skating) 1:20:00 [2]
shoes: Skate Boots

Skating from P8 with Jason, Shelia and Hansel. Felt decent, nothing special and that section of the Parkway, south past Penguin and up to the junction just sucks, everything is big ups and downs.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:30:00 [1]
shoes: Skate Boots

Gave a skate ski lesson followed by skiing on my own from P8 up in the Gats. Very very fast day out there, although if it warms up more, it's going to slow down.

Saw Kevin Jones afterwards, showed him the Raid the Hammer maps and he remembered running WC86 there. He was also on skiis older than mine.

Cross-country skiing long (skating) 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Skate Boots

Skate ski with Adam in the Gats, from P5. Had to parkway ski, which really sucks, especially Fortune Parkway climb. There were tons of people out skiing for a Thursday afternoon. Nice fast icy snow, the fresh powder on top was really slow, but the groomers were out in force.

Ice Skating long 1:05:00 [1]
weight:155lbs shoes: Hockey Skates

A night skate on the canal in lovely freezing rain weather. I was going to go skiing after work, but that got cancelled and I couldn't find anyone to go skiing with, so skating it was. My legs are hurting from yesterday, so I think it was a wise move.

Running warm up/down 35:00 [1]
weight:155lbs shoes: Asics 2070

Warm up and cool down with Freddy at the Dome indoor track.

Running intervals 9:00 [5] 3.0 km (3:00 / km)
weight:155lbs shoes: Fila Mega Ugly Flats

Track intervals with Freddy at the Dome. Everything was done on pace for a 8:45 3000m. I actually felt very good, however, I tend to fall apart in longer intervals, so this played into my strength. We'll see when the distances are longer.

Saw Glenroy Gilbert and Charles Allen. Allen moved out of the way for us, very nice of him.

Ice Skating 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: Hockey Skates

Just an evening cruise on the Ottawa canal with Ali. It was pretty chilly, but once you got going, not bad. The BeaverTails smelt very good and I need to go have some soon. A fine Stella afterwards.

Running 45:00 [3]

Run along the canal before work.

Running 35:00 [3]

A run that was going to be longer, but it was mega mega cold and nasty icy.

Running 40:00 [2]

Run after work, it was getting really cold and dark. Plus, I'd been on my feet all day being happy, selling stuff.

Orienteering Training 1:15:00 [2] ****
34c slept:7.0

Training day at Hilton Falls North. Great training for NAOC, and very interesting that we were getting a mix of Middle and Long Trainings depending on the part of the map. I was pretty happy with my nav, although got a wee bit sloppy near the end when I started thinking about my legs. Good footing in the woods.

Orienteering Race race 1:08:53 [4] ****
spiked:10/12c slept:7.5 weight:155lbs

THOMASS race as part of the Training camp. Felt decent early on, but had a huge painful fall going to control 2 while running with Bob Miller, Piller and Jason. It really knocked the wind out of me and hurt my knee. Took a couple of pretty slow routes to cotnrol 2 and 3 which brought me back in the pack, and then, was completely out of gas going to 6 and in.

Orienteering Race race 19:07 [4] 2.5 km (7:39 / km)
shoes: Asics 2070

Rattlesnake Point Sprint Race. I placed 11th, which was okay considering fitness. Felt good on some points, but big mistake after I crossed an uncrossable fence and then promptly ran the full distance to the fence openning, negating my advantage for crossing the fence. Hans caught and passed me, although I stayed with him for quite a bit.

shoes: Asics 2070

Run on New Years day, should have gone skiing, but went running instead. Felt like crap from last night.
