Note

I doubt the right people read my log, but wonder what the shortest degrees of separation for someone on AP to this video:

I will guess 4.

Orienteering Race race 1:36:29 [4]

Probably a Top 5 Ottawa Sunday Event.

P7, brand new map of Camp Fortune area, awesome investment by Orienteering Ottawa, some of the best woods and terrain in the Gats.

Event Director Eric Kemp
Course Setter: Andreas Boesen (WOC medalist)
Weather: awesome

Ran with Karl Saidla, who's still usually on the podium at the Gatineau Loppet. Whenever we got onto a trail section, Karl changed gears and I had to push to keep up. Karl also wore his O-pants he bought in Thunder Bay in the 90s while Orienteering with Lappe (they are totally too big on him)

Great course, tried to talk to Karl the whole time, he navigated any of the trail sections. Not the fastest of times, but just behind Pippa Archer who I guess was in town?

This was a top notch event and not at all a "meaningless fun run". Now how can we make it that the top Ottawa runners are running and not helping or elsewhere.

Also cool to see the skiers out.

Running 1:20:00 [3]

Guessing at the time, a really warm run with Fred and Nicky.

There's out there's an island in the Caribbean that has lots of Orienteering including being taught in school. However, sadly, their athletes wouldn't be eligible for NAOC.

Running intervals 30:00 [5]

Oh baby, track workout with Mile2Marathon! At the strangely shaped MAC track whiich people are guessing to be 360m.

4x800 - 90 sec rest
4x400 - 90 sec rest

Some people did 6 of each but thank god my group was mostly racing Army Run so stuck with sets of 4.

Felt shockingly decent, mostly due to employing "realistic pacing" in my early 800s.

Great to see the awesome big group that Dylan has built up in just a few months.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Warm-up and cool down. Warm-up was a bit faster than what I'd like.

Running 1:07:00 [4]

Might have been an hour 17 but whatever.
Awesome working with NFL, one of my faves and such good Orienteering training, good things there were three of us there from OOC.

4x2km loops with 2 min recovery. Start on Ridge going at fast pace, then onto a side trail connecting to technical single-track back. Lots of rocks, over a few streams and up and down wee hills. Goal was to try to stay consistent.

Off to Toronto to host government consultations on Thursday.

Mountain Biking (MTB) 1:30:00 [3]

Well this hasn't been a good run of things lately.

Went to P16 this morning to go MTB with Farley. Could not get the front wheel on. Went to Lampi's place and she told me to go P9 with their friends and they'd help. Which they totally did. But, going from P9 meant lots of road time, not great for Farley, so went to Fortune and road instead along Ridge and then some other trails. Pretty fun ride.

Then more stress.
