Note

This is a very cool website. I wonder if this former quary is on an Orienteering map in the green belt?

Orienteering Training 45:00 [1]

Hanging morning controls for Camp Fortune event today. Great temp but man, it got warmer later.

I don't think I can log standing in the sun all day as training.

Orienteering Training 2:00:00 [1]

Incredibly nice day in Ottawa. Wanted to get up the Gats first thing this morning, but got tied up instead.

Checking ribbons / hanging ribbons for next Sunday's event.

Woods are great in some places, nothing too scary out there. Although the Gats are tough, even in white woods it feels like lots of effort to get going at any speed (which I didn't really do at all today).

Running 45:00 [1]

Great trail run in a break of the rain with Lampi from her place in Kirk's Ferry. My god the woods were amazing! Some of the nicest Gat Park woods I've seen.

If anyone out there has a copy of the old Meech Lake map I'd love to see it. I know one of the issues of not using that map was the lack of trails for easy courses. Also the giant highway that was build through the middle, but I wonder if that corner of Gatineau Park should be targeted for an use?

canoe/kayak 2:00:00 [1]

Full day of canoeing in Lac La Peche. Often wondered why there are no maps of this part of the Gats, suppose not enough trails? Woods probably range from super open with pines to mega fight.

But regardless, Lac La Peche is amazing to paddle, especially on a day like this. You could probably do a mid-week camping trip and still make it in to work the next day.

Does Bob McGill (former Queens runner) live in Dundas?
