Running 45:00 [3]
slept:8.0 weight:155lbs

An evening run along the river, a wee bit dark and muddy, but the legs actually felt decent for once. In the words of Joel Plaskett, possibly Canada's greatest frontman right now, "it was extra-ordinary."
Everyone should go out and buy some Joel Plaskett tomorrow, one of the hardest working men in rock and roll.

Running long 1:10:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2070

Long run with Freddy and Doug in the Gats, mostly trail 15. Perfect time today to run, it rained before and after. The trails are nice and dry, and the woods are really open. Hopefully will get on a map this week.

Running 47:44 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

Just an awful run, along the river. Felt a combination of tired and weak. Really blah, no zip in the legs and felt tired in the core. The sassauge I had at MEC didn't help.
The weather was lovely though.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]
slept:5.0 shoes: Salomon XPro Trail runners

Was working until about 1:30am last night, so didn't feel exactly pumped in the morning. The warm up at Vincent Massey was running around, looking for an open bathroom (failed) and saw JennyD look confident running through a field only to find out later she wasn't at all heading in the right direction.

Orienteering Race race 47:53 [4] *** 8.46 km (5:40 / km)
21c slept:5.0 shoes: Salomon XPro Trail runners

Vincent Massey B meet, first OOC meet of the year. Second on the Long Advance to BG who I guess was cooking, although I just felt really slow in lots of places out there. I'm a bit worried about my hamstring early this season.
I've Orienteer on this map enough that I almost don't need the map. No errors, just hard on the legs.
OOC used very small metal controls and I'm not sure why, way harder to see than the mini-flags. BG says it's because flags would make it too easy, but I hate running within a meter beside a control and not see it because it's so small.

Running long 1:16:52 [2]
slept:6.0 shoes: Asics 2070

A long run by myself from Freddy's place, first run in the Gats this spring. My body just felt dead early on, but sort of picked up later. Really nice run, did some decent hills, the woods look great and I'd like to get a copy of the Mont Blue map to run on, even though it's not a great map.

Running 53:47 [3]
slept:8.0 shoes: Asics 2070

Bread and butter run, right at dusk, well, getting dark quickly. I've started to turn the run into a loop and return along the canal rather than out andback by the river. It means more pavement, but it should toughen up my legs and not make any pavement so striking, like running the Nat Cap 10km.

Running 45:00 [2]

Training run along the river post OIP interview, early afternoon. Mega thanks to SuperWes for telling me about the program and to Bash for interview hints. For the record, no strengths and weaknesses question.
Interview went very well, questions about: customer service, multiple deadlines, conflicts and tensions at work, event management and writing/creative experience.
Now I wait and see if I make it to the next round.

Running 1:02:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

Pretty solid run by myself along the river, my bread and butter trail is pretty dry by now, and then back along the canal, which was a bit more pavement than I'd like. Felt really good on the way back, a little tight on the way out.

Along the Rideau River I saw a beaver, it ducked under water once, but I'm pretty certain it was a beaver. What the hell is it doing in the Rideau River? I was right near Karl Saidla's parents place, I would have asked Tony but he's a secret agent and best not disturbed.

Hamstrings are tight. And my bread and butter run is really flat, I need to get into the Gats somewhere and climb some hills.

Cross-country skiing (skating) 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Skate Boots

Ski from P10 with JennyD, ran into Monika out by Huron. Pretty decent ski, although it was in the rain and one of those days you think, it's just spitting a bit, and then when you stop you say, no, it's really raining.

Hopefully will get one more ski in at least. I heard that Lafleur might groom for another couple of weeks. They do such an amazing job with the Gats.

Running tempo 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2070

A run with Adam that was meant to be much slower, but turned out to be alot harder than both of us wanted. My lack of lunch really didn't help and both of us kept complaining about how awful our legs felt, and then we took turns leading and picking up the pace.

Cross-country skiing long (skating) 1:30:00 [1]
shoes: Skate Boots

Lovely ski from P19 Lac Philipe with JennyD. Had a burger at the LaFleur bbq and then headed out looking for snow. Found lots, it was actually really nice, a bit too icy in some parts, but other sections were great.

But I'd rather have been at the Pig.
