Shadowing Kate on the VE. She had orientated her map from the ground by the time I got to the start. She cruised/sprinted/walked/strolled around making all of the decisions. At 4 she said she could not work out where north was so I said to think about where she'd come from. She turn the map about an eighth of a turn and zoomed off. Out of 6 she went right along the creek/gully. I was just starting to think when I should say she might want to have another look, when she stopped, had a look, turned around and went back to 6. She then set off up the right (left) creek. She zipped around the rest and gave Carol Brownlie something to think about on the finish leg.

Nice way to warm down.

Clean run for the most part. Was a bit tentative coming into 2 as I have had trouble in that part of the map before. Didn't take the best route into 6, although the route choice along the leg was okay. Ended up stumbling down the mounds and pits on top of the hill when I should have skirted around them. Out of 7 I took a couple of steps towards 14 before correcting quickly enough. Around the hill to the right to 9 and up to the fence line to 10. I was super tentative in 11 and 12 but picked them up cleanly enough. Bit of a fumble through to 15 caused by seeing a wide unmarked track in the middle of the crap. Beat Ollie down to the creek on the way to 16 but then he put 15m on me up and over the hill.

Hilly but enjoyable course. Only tripped on two shin high fences.
