Orienteering race 1:15:00 [4] ***

Batona 500, Day 2. Red course (9.1 km, 120 m climb). 75 min. I did a much better race today than yesterday. Managed to run the whole course, even though I tried to stay on the trails as much as possible to avoid the blueberry bushes and to conserve energy. Did two bad route choices and missed both controls as well (rougly 6 min worth of mistakes). Felt that I shouldn't give up running yet, which I was tempted to do after yesterday's run...

Event: BATONA 500

Orienteering race 1:05:00 [3] ***

Batona 500. Red course (6.3 km, 110 m climb). 67 min if I remember correctly. I should have stuck to my own age category and run green. I started out in a not very impressive speed and run into the wall towards #11 (around 2/3 of the course). After that I had to mostly walk. I also made an eight min mistake since I was too tired to read the map. Not fun...

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Running 1:00:00 [4]
weight:73.5kg shoes: Nike AZV

Evening run with Mark on the grass strip between Com Ave and the carriage way. I wasn't able to run in the morning so I asked Mark to get me to run in the evening. And sure, he did a good job. When I was coming home tired at 7 PM he was dressed and ready to go so I had no choice except joining him. It was tough the first 10 min, but felt good after that. I even got so inspired that I speeded a little towards the end. We run from Washington (Route 16) to Center Street, back to Washington, where I dropped Mark and did a second loop up to Chestnut and back.
