orienteering race 2:14:01 [3] ****
spiked:10/14c

nice course but a lot of deadfall and saplings...but then we were in the Gatineau. I was going at a slower than usual pace since temps were in the 80s and so that I could avoid falling and jamming my thumb...worked for the most part, only fell once, stumbled twice. I really had a hard time adjusting to the map...spent 20 min on #1 which should have taken only 10. Must be the baseplate compass.... I got really overheated near the end on the road/open field run even though I drank 2 cups at each of 3 water stops...it was really hot. Could only find 20 minutes or so of mistakes that I could have eliminated, the rest was just me being slow.
