Durand...1st run of the season. My quads were still tired from skiing yesterday so I did duck a few hills on the way back. Pace was slow since there was either ice or mud on about 30% of the trails. Felt good to get out in the warmth and sunshine.
Still having an issue with my HR monitor going really high for the first 10 minutes of my run then it settles into a more accurate read.

Went back to Happy Valley to pick up controls. We skiied for the first part then switched to snowshoes...snowshoes, although tougher on the quads, felt faster and was easier on my shoulder.

CNYO Snowgaine...we only went for today...that was enough. Temps were in the high 20s, perfect temp. The snow cover had a hard crust with a bit of new powder in the open areas. We skied but needed to take the skies off when it got too gnarly...downhills were fast but luckily there weren't any really big hills. Not sure that snowshoes wouldn't have been faster. About 2/3s of the way through I got a wet-foot, wasn't bad at first but then the water drained down into my boot and totally soaked my L sock...finally had to stop to wring out my sock in hopes of reheating my toes...sort of worked. Lots of fun, great map/course.
Started my watch late but adjusted the time/distance.
