My turn to take the kayak today, Rick and Lindsay took the canoe. My shoulders are a little sore after yesterday plus we've been restaining the cottage so that's a little stressful on the old joints. Went without putting the rudder down, wasn't a problem except when we went through the cut...kind of got swept away with the current a couple of times.

it was a bit windy but my legs were too tired from yesterday to go for a bike ride. Rick wanted to go the opposite way thinking that we would be more out of the wind but I thought it looked like the wind was more west and we would be more sheltered on the way back if we went the way we did...I should not listen to myself. It turned out to be ok, staying along shore kept us out of the worst of it although there was one point where the waves were breaking over the bow...but not high enough to take on water. The last crossing would have been the same regardless of our direction but at least we could paddle directly into the wind. I was surprised at how many cottages were for sale on the island.

Blue Mt...Ontario, that is. Great day for a run. Tried to keep my pace up, felt rested after not doing anything yesterday. I continue to work on the posture thing. I also think that the strengthening exercises I've been doing to be able to lift my leg higher behind me have helped me avoid falling...haven't hit the dirt in quite a while...and that's a good thing!

went to Grenadier Island and managed to stay mostly on trails except for crossing the golf course. Managed to remember my HR strap AND my garmin AND my running shoes (doesn't happen too often that I manage all 3) so I was able to record my HR. Was surprised that it didn't go much above 130 even though I was feeling like I was pushing...guess I was just tired from yesterday.

kayaked around the island, up the creek and over to Lake of the Isles...lots of turtles, frogs, herons and osprey...woo-hoo! Really took it easy since this is really a rest day, my legs were beat yesterday.
ps forgot to wear my garmin...how waterproof are they anyways?!?!?

went for a little paddle among the islands, fairly calm with just enough of a breeze to make the final part a bit easier...surprised that my shoulder didn't feel all that bad, just a little achy when we first started out.

Ran the Marble Rock Hiking Trails...don't go there often but it's really nice. The trail is rugged with lots of rocky areas, some pretty good climbs and narrow trails...rarely see anyone on the trails.

ran at Jones Creek but from the other end of the park from last week, very nice footing. I was concentrating on not runniong like a swimmer i.e. keeping my shoulders down and back...made me concentrate on what I was doing especially since I didn't have anyone to talk to...miss you Judy. We did manage to finish before the rain this time.

rode the back roads to Gananque to get a chisel to finish some dock repairs...didn't get the chisel but did get some really good corn for dinner and had a very refreshing break at Dairy Queen. We took the direct route home. Beautiful day for a ride.

Convention week is over! A lot of control hanging, control collecting, walking around at the meet site, e-punch string-o, and lots of fun.
