Island Cottage Woods - watch malfunction! Not sure what happened but no gps and when I tried to save the time it just kept spinning but didn't save it and kept spinning until the battery ran out. I recharged it and found that all of my activities were gone...not that I needed them since they had all been downloaded. Could be that I overloaded the memory???

Had a 9am eye appt next door to the Y so I figured that I would work out after my appt....almost didn’t go when I couldn’t find a parking space in the Y lot but then a car pulled out so I stayed...same problem in the ladies locker room but that worked out....guess everyone was on the cardio machines or in classes cause there were only a few people in the weight area so it wasn’t a problem...can’t believe how many people were there, guess I’ll stick to my usual early afternoon time.

Mendon Ponds - rolled track, temps around 30, oak leaves under the oak trees had to be cautious going down hill due to leaf brakes, snow under the pines was great. Started getting my rhythm back after about 30 minutes. Too bad this won’t last.

Durand - 1st skiing of the season! Nothing was groomed but there were frozen tracks so I did a lot of double poling... just enough snow to be able to skate a little on the road even though it wasn’t rolled. Amazing that it happened so early in the year.

Mendon Ponds Trail Race - perfect weather, trails were in great shape...I had an awesome race! Ran the middle section with a 50k runner on his 5th loop who kept catching up to me on the hills but then I was able to pull away from him on the downhills. He did manage to pull ahead on the last k, not enough hills to keep us together...plus I was really feeling tired by then.
