O race (Umuna) 1:37:00 [3] *** 6.6 km (14:42 / km)
spiked:8/14c slept:12.0 shoes: Mudclaw

Felt pretty crap after a bit of a gruelling funeral on Saturday afternoon.

180 error out of the start triangle and that rather set the tone for the day.

The rest of the nav wasn't too bad, just a bit hesitant. Was still catching people at 14 and the finish that I caught at 3. And 6. And 11. I'm mostly pleased that I didn't quit between 11 and 12 when the leg went so close to the assembly area and I had already been out for well over an hour.

Legs simply would not co-operate up hills, down hills, along slopes or on the flat. Felt terribly unfit - far worse than seems reasonable.

Jeremy kept up much better today and I got a very pleasant draft up the freeway at 32.

Got to find a way to get yoga and swimming back into my week.

Trotted along with Leah who was probably trying not to fall asleep.

Time a guess. Distance an estimate.

I'm kind of enjoying this no GPS, no heartrate thing.

Next week Parliament isn't sitting. Maybe I'll get to go for a swim then.

Sludgy day with both of us feeling tired and meh. All my usable long pants are hanging soaking on the line, so unfortunately had to run in shorts and really felt the cold.

I properly ran a hundred metres or right towards the end and it felt wonderful in the legs and knees and especially in that nagging hip flexor - but still don' t have the lungs to maintain it for any length of time.
