DVOA: Hickory Goat. Hickory Run SP PA. Up at 6am but not feeling well so slept some more. 11am mass start and I had a 3 hour drive to get there. Dragged out of bed at 8 and got sick but managed to get on the road. Figured I would just start late or maybe drop down to the 9k option and 11:30 start. Arrived at 10:53. Luckily they started late at 11:15 and I made the start. No dinner last night, no breakfast this morning, no prerace preparation, and no training. Did not expect a great run. Had a power bar and 32oz of ERG and ran. . . and died. Major time lost on 3 and 4, Found the streamer for 4 but kept looking because I did not like the depression it was in. Eventually went on but used it as one of my two skips. (5 was the other) Switched to a rogaine pace by 7. Screwed up big time along with Dave Onkst on some of the short legs in the middle. Twice used the next control as an attack point for the one we wanted. Cramping on the way to 17 and walked most of the rest taking routes which avoided all green. Finished last of those who completed the course.

At work all night then drove to Lancaster for all day square dancing. 10am-12:15pm. 1:30-3:30pm, 7:30-10pm.

6:30 pm. Warmup before race.

track (race) 1:00:00 [3] 13.84 km (4:20 / km)

DCRRC: 1 hour track run. Washington and Lee HS. 7pm Temperature down a bit due to impending rain. Only 77 but humidity way up. Knew I had no chance of getting last years distance of just under 15k. Tried to maintain a reasonable pace and not die to much. 1600m splits 6:19.2, 6:31.6, 6:42.9, 7:00.5, 6:59.8, 7:18.3, 7:19.8, 7:12.9 Total distance 13842m.
