Walking (paved roads) 1:04:19 intensity: (8 @0) + (18:57 @1) + (31:59 @2) + (12:41 @3) + (34 @4) 6.2 km (10:22 / km) +81m 9:44 / km

City Strides node hunting in western Springfield Township. Completed 5 streets for CS purposes*, while walking only two streets, because one straddles a township line, and the other crosses two township lines. :-) Near 50, breezy, and cloudy, though it had been sunny earlier in the day (and cleared up again after we got home). Glen ran for some of it and went a bit farther. I'll catch up later.

On Trolley Bridge Road, we could see where the trolley tracks used to cross this road, but couldn't tell where a bridge might have been. The Liberty Bell trolley ran between Norristown and Allentown, from 1912 to 1951.

While it's not orienteering, the effort to plan a route and then execute it probably uses some of the same brain cells that orienteering does.

*Actually six, but a map correction to OSM is required to get credit for Old Bethlehem Pike. There's a section of Old Bethlehem ROAD in the same township that CS thinks we need to get.

Deanna's Yin class

2 PM

Walking (paved roads) hills 1:03:16 intensity: (17 @0) + (57:30 @1) + (5:29 @2) 5.14 km (12:19 / km) +135m 10:53 / km

While Glen went one way, I dropped him off, parked at a mutually agreed upon location, and went another way. I needed to get the last few nodes on Beverly Hills Rd, which was basically a steady climb of about 300+' from where I started. Picked up a few more streets and progressed a long one that still has tons of nodes on CS. Upper 30s, some breeze.

Five streets in West Orange while visiting. (Four per CS, but one isn't completable due to construction...will edit in OSM.) Low 40s and windy; dressed as I have for the past several days of walking in similar conditions.

Yoga 50:00 intensity: (35:00 @1) + (15:00 @2)

Deanna's "welcome the year of the rabbit" class, focusing on chest openers. My arms are sore; guess I needed that!

2 PM

Walking (paved roads) 1:18:01 intensity: (1:08 @0) + (1:12:18 @1) + (4:35 @2) 6.61 km (11:48 / km) +95m 11:01 / km

More roads in Lower Milford Twp. Glen had planned a loop, which he walked clockwise and I walked counter-clockwise. He tacked on another ~1mile, and we arrived back at the car at almost the same time. Low 40s, cloudy, and breezy at times ("bracing").

Saw a large flock of snow geese flying overhead.

I'd say they were CityStrides streets, but CS has not captured my activities of the past couple of days...wonder why?

Short segment to progress a street in Springfield Twp, finishing a gap. Upper 30s, cloudy.

Then I drove to another parking space to complete a street across the busy highway (309) that you can't cross on foot.

More City Strides streets in Lower Milford Twp, with a few in adjacent Upper Milford, after dropping Glen off at the top the hill further north to complete Upper Saucon Twp. He walked to where I parked the car/started, then drove up the hill that I walked up, to pick me up. Mid 30s and a bit of mixed precip starting near the end of my walk.
