To start of UNO NRE at Pawtuckaway. Temps in 70s already when we arrived.
It was here at Pawtuckaway that I participated in my first ever A meet, on the orange course in F-open, 30 years ago (Oct 1992) when the US orienteering community also hosted an orienteering World Cup race here, with plenty of sponsors and prizes. Made quite the impression on me, and I kept coming back for more.

Determined to go slower than usual to try to keep my heart rate lower and not push things. My plan was slow and steady and I seemed to manage pretty well. My non-spiked control was #4 where the hills at the end looked a bit different that I had pictured; also I didn't read the description at first and thought I was looking for a hill when I actually wanted a reentrant between two hills. I didn't hit either but did recognize the hill as the one to the south with boulder clusters and corrected.
I lucked out a bit to #5 as there were a couple of cadets also looking for it and I saw where they punched (I was unsure how far I'd gone at the time).
To 6, after I crossed the beaver dam I headed S on trails as far the intermittent marsh near a trail bend due E of the control. Carefully followed features until I hit the green marsh, which I decided to skirt around to the S, thus the wiggle there.
Slow and steady worked out for me. When we left there were only two folks finished in my class (not sure how many registered...) and I was 1st. Also was ahead of an M65 and an F60.
Drove to NH to go orienteering this weekend.:-) Rented an AirBnB (basement level of someone's house) near Derry.
We ate dinner at Backyard Brewery S of Manchester where the food was excellent and the beer fine (I had a flight, but they only had a couple of IPAs; the maple salmon, and the brisket, were quite good).

Jordan Parkway trails. Explored along the creek on a trail I'd ridden once or twice. Stopped to move unnecessary small logs off the trail too. Then went to my preferred-trails area to play, before heading out to cross the creek again near the community gardens. Encountered Glen coming the opposite way in three different areas. :-)

Covid day 10...or is it? Negative home rapid test...hurray!
Oakhurst loop CCW with a bit through the neighborhood at the end. Low 80s, mostly overcast, a bit humid.
Avoided the short but steep uphill on (potentially busy) Oakhurst by taking a side road and climbing there (Balsam-Laurel-Bittersweet). Local kids tried to sell me lemonade but I forgot I had money in my water pack until I was too far away to turn back. It probably would have made their day.

Covid day 9, 1 day post-Paxlovid
Walk around the community after dinner/sunset. Cloudy and humid but the rain hasn't reached us yet...maybe tomorrow. Temp probably near 80, but there was a nice breeze so it was comfortable.
