Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

Workout designed for a personal training client of Jen's named "Tony" except Tony never showed. :-) It was a good selection of exercises anyway. I can hold planks for longer than I thought I could; gotta keep up with the pulldowns, which seem to help my shoulder. Side planks are out; I don't feel they're all that necessary.

Fitness equipment (elliptical) 50:00 [3]

Hill interval level 3 again. Listened to Fresh Air episodes on my iPod nano while also glancing at the TVs around. Fresh Air was about yoga (not my favorite exercise format). Haven't updated WWDTM this week yet.
2.31mi highest HR seen was 139
Also, adductors (12@75 and 10@70), and pulldowns

Exerc. Class 55:00 [1]

In Chatham, including stepping. Temp outside warmed from 43 at start to mid 50s after; it's now 60. :-) I'm loving the early spring.

I know that sore triceps often come after a fall forward (one on Saturday; bruised knee as well but not badly), but I didn't realize how much triceps come unto play when you do supine bench presses with free weights--ouch!

Orienteering race 59:26 [4] *** 3.9 km (15:14 / km) +141m 12:54 / km
spiked:11/12c slept:7.0 shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 #3

Brown day 2 at Uwharrie Nat'l Forest. Good run until the final control before finish, where I neglected to take the safe route, neglected to check compass when things didn't match what I expected, and generally stopped orienteering too early. Seven minutes lost on that one control (from comparing splits with others; Gail did ~4:30), giving second place to Sandy--congrats to her for consistency. :-)

Enjoyed the course and terrain, again, and the open woods and warming weather (about 40 at start, in mid 50s by finish) loved all the sun! :-)

UPDATED:
FR data -- 4.504 km, 100 m climb

Good:
> Started off carefully. Used compass most of the time to make sure I was seeing the features I wanted to on the map. Mostly straight on most legs
> Found the "stepping stone" crossing near the cliff at 11 and kept my feet dry
> 11 out of 12 controls went very well today

Bad:
> Turned my brain off on the way from 11-12; didn't check my compass enough along the way and was confused by what I was seeing. Took a long time to come to grips and get finished in the right direction.
> Had to walk part of the uphill to the finish rather than gutting it out

Route
10 AM

Note

Close up of my error, "parallel" in a way, though at the wrong angle. Took awhile before the light bulb lit up. :-P
