Thank you to everyone who has kept my mom and me in their thoughts.
The trip to Baltimore yesterday was with a heavy heart, since it was clear that my mother was not going to last much longer. I am grateful that I was able to be with my mom, and there for my aunt Nora, who was her best friend. My brother, James, brought some music to play, which I mostly tuned out, but one song stuck in my head - or, at least a part of one song - the words "you're my angel, my darling angel" - my mother often said that to me. Also, her pet name for me was Lally, which I had forgotten, and she called me that often these last two weeks. It made me feel special.
In the end, after all of the family had departed for the evening, Dorothy did the same, to join the angels, or at least that is how I will picture it. We weren't able to get her home as she would have liked, but she is home now.
Mom was a brave, wonderful mother, and friend to many, and she will be missed greatly.
I wanted to share this here, but I have one request to my friends...I do not want to rocket to the top of the nosey log. Please give me a hug this weekend, if you see me, and/or email me instead. Thank you.
