Trail Run (Wakefield/Lake Accotink) 1:19:00 [3] 6.8 mi (11:37 / mi)
shoes: Ice Bugs Men's Blue 8.5

Timing duties went quickly today -only a 5/10 mile trail race on a faster course than some of the other venues, so it was all wrapped up in 2 hours. Couldn't pass up running on a cooler afternoon, came prepared, and got a run in.

Only shoes in the car were the Icebugs, which were a bit of overkill for these trails, especially since I decided to do the packed, and sometimes paved, Wakefield to Lake Accotink loop, but they did the trick. Ideally, I would have run some of the Wakefield trails, but that would have required too much mental energy, so if was off to run around the lake instead.

Left hip a little tight from sitting so much this weekend, mostly on an incline.

Said I would be home at 2 PM, and I drove up at 1:59 only to find Roger in the front yard, and the extension cord plugged in. Oh, crap! I said I would mow the lawn when I got home if it was dry enough, and it was. So, I knocked that out, and it looks lovely. :)

Note

Oh, I forgot...a fairly large red fox, with a very bushy tail, crossed my path on the section between Wakefield and Lake Accotink, as you approach the underpass for the Beltway. Very cool sighting.

Trail Run (Hemlock Overlook) 1:04:00 [3] 4.8 mi (13:20 / mi)
shoes: Ice Bugs - Red Storm

Timing the Bull Run Run 50 miler. Made the plan ahead of time to run between duties, and followed through despite the warm, humid conditions. Yeah! Thought I would do 2 hours, but 1 was quite enough, thank you very much!
Like Kris said, it was difficult to go from 0-60 in 9 seconds, or something like that.
Long day, with another (shorter) event to time tomorrow. I hope to run after that one, and the conditions should be cooler. So, follow through is key to the day.

Running/Walking (Neighborhood & bike trail) 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
weight:182lbs shoes: New Balance 1223

More of a struggle tonight with the warmer weather (78F) and spring having sprung. Wheezing and pooped legs. So, I ran a bit and then walked, and then tried to run some more, and then walked the rest. All together, it was about 2 miles running and 3 walking.

Very happy to have gotten out a second day in a row after napping after work.

Dumb move - wore only one pair of socks and got a blister on the side of my right heel in the usual place I get blisters if I only wear one pair of socks. I must stick with the combination which works - two pairs.

Running (Neighborhood & bike trail) 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
weight:184lbs shoes: Orange Crush (adidas)

Felt decent. 68F at 5:15 PM. Lots of sports practice & games at the high school. Ran through the park - kept my eyes and ears open. Lots of people out.

Walking (Reverse route) 27:30 [2] 2.0 mi (13:45 / mi)
shoes: Orange Crush (adidas)

Walked the same route back home instead of completing the circle like I usually do. Pushed as hard as I could.

Note
weight:182lbs

Weight is down, probably just temporary, but I'll take it.

Body held up well this weekend. No real pains, just aches.
