Orienteering race (Norristown Sprint 1) 26:03 [3] ** 2.88 km (9:03 / km) +21m 8:44 / km
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

First of the 3 sprints on the new Norristown map near Philadelphia, PA. Actual distance covered was 2.4 miles.

Orienteering (Norristown Sprint 2) 29:51 [3] ** 3.12 km (9:34 / km) +39m 9:00 / km
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Second of the 3 sprints. Mess up #4 and take a longer route to #12. Actual distance covered was 2.29 miles.

Orienteering (Norristown Sprint 3) 33:52 [3] ** 2.75 km (12:19 / km) +33m 11:37 / km
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Last one - butt is dragging and mind is fried. Doing all 3 in quick sucession in order that Sandy can do them also. Should have eaten a little something before this one. Take a really long route to #1. Actual distance covered was 2.91 miles.

Running 21:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:30 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Run with Sandy on the trail in the Wissahickon in Philadephia. Nice to stretch my legs after the drive from Arlington. Sandy was feeling a bit under the weather - she was still kicking my butt.

Walking warm up/down 26:00 [1] 1.5 mi (17:20 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

The walk down and back from Sandy's house. Part road, part snow covered trail. Reminded me of home - finishing uphill.

Trail Run (Prince William Forest) 2:30:20 [2] 10.0 mi (15:02 / mi)
weight:190lbs shoes: Saucony Hurricane 6 S10

Beautiful day with temps around 35. I really like Prince William Forest but the drive up/down 95 can be a deal buster. I didn't let it deter me today.
Legs flat - probably due to yesteday's workout on pavement. Stuck with my original plan to get 10 miles in. Trail in excellent shape except for about 10% which was quite muddy and/or slippery.
Time includes stoppage time for a dog off leash with owners way behind. I really hate that - the dog turned out to be friendly but it stood in the middle of the trail and I wasn't going to try to get past it until its owners arrived. Very irritating and anxious time since I am a bit leary of dogs.
Carried my O map - which was a good thing because the route I was planning to take was closed.
I enjoyed the trip to the woods!!

Walking (back to car) 8:00 [1] 0.5 mi (16:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Hurricane 6 S10

Walked back to car.
