running 20:00
some running back and forth with juniors , placing a few controls and so on.
Beautiful day in Deep Cove with something like 37 people (juniors and some parents) participating.
Printed 35 warm-up maps and did not have enough.
I thought Deep Cove is far and some people will not show up, but the sunshine made to come even a few not registered juniors. Fun as usually!
We made hills based on cut-outs of maps with "Playdoh" and that was the hit of the day.
Where is your map? It fell into the ocean.
Orient your map. But the map keeps turning the wrong way all the time.
Mayumi: these baseball kids took the control down, they have no idea that we need it and they have no idea what we are doing here. These baseball kids!
Julia: we should map a lake and do kayak-o, after this idea she developed the whole concept of using parents as power and them as navigators. Just need to find a bigger lake.
For me this is a crazy week of orienteering organizing, I think today is the first day I do not have to place any flags after school or/and print any maps, but tomorrow there is more.
No spare time to train between 8 am and 11pm.
