Cycling 46:39 [2] 13.19 km (3:32 / km) +115m 3:23 / km

Biked back up the hill. All said and done, an epic day!

Orienteering long (Line-O) 1:41:53 intensity: (15:00 @1) + (25:00 @2) + (1:01:53 @3) ***** 10.91 km (9:20 / km)

Epic 10km Line-O with Robbie. Different from the first one. I love doing these things. Went much better this time with no colossal mistakes. Having Robbie to run with was great. High intensity from beginning to end.

Core 30:00 [3]

With Robbie. First time in a while. Going to be sore for sure.
10 PM

Orienteering 1:05:30 intensity: (30:00 @1) + (35:30 @2) **** 8.54 km (7:40 / km) +14m 7:37 / km

Round two on Mt. Lorne. Found the exercise harder then the Middle. Only had the dreaded orange ribbons to look for. Reran a couple of the legs that I botched but still... the super subtle topography combined with the slow compass needle makes this area insanely difficult to run accurately.

Running warm up/down 5:19 [1] 0.69 km (7:39 / km)

Easy morning run with Robbie. Did some filming that will hopefully make it's way to the blog sometime soon.

Cycling 32:22 [2] 9.27 km (3:30 / km) +130m 3:16 / km

Biked down to Brent's for a session of one on one coaching. We were discussing a recent training and I was listing off all the mistakes I made when Brent fired back by asking for all the techniques I had used to orienteer well. I had troubles coming up with more then three. That's when Brent starting rhyming of the full list of techniques I'd been using, giving me a much brighter perspective on my orienteering. It was a very positive experience.

Cycling 30:04 [0] 9.82 km (3:04 / km) +63m 2:58 / km

Back home.

YOT B-meet on Coppertown. Was a simple course and raced well except for a silly mistake at the end. Ended up taking the victory by a small margin only because Brent neglected to take a safe route choice on a tricky bingo control (his own advice to me only a few days before).

Robbie's here! Went for an easy tour around Mount Mac. Did the Score-O that I'd setup for the Novices then an easy line-O.

Was really psyched for this one. A technical course on the old COC's map Miles Canyon. Was doubly excited because Brent was shadowing me.

Rocketed out of the gates but bobbled #1 slightly. Nailed #2 but then botched an aggressive routechoice that crossed a green side hill. Managed to recover on the fly but then ran 20m past the control and had to recover all over again. There were no flags hung in the forest and Brent and I ended up making a giant parralel error to #5, stopping at the incorrect depression, then somehow recovering on the way to #6 without realizing that we'd never found #5. Thank goodness for GPS tracks because I would have never known. A hilarious mistake but somewhat disconcerting that we never realized what had happened...

Don't quite understand why we haven't trained on Miles Canyon before now. So many amazing ultra technical trainings possible on some of these maps and yet we run on Mount Mac at least once a week?!!??!

Line-O without compass by Brent on Mount Mac. Ran just after eating a huge delicious meal as a guest at the "Sunday Night Family Dinner". Highly recommend it. Line-O was fun but getting a bit tired of Mount Mac.
