The long was an almost very successful race for me. A sudden loss of contact trying to catch Igor combined with fatigue after 12 km of orienteering lost me 2 minutes in an open field. However 2 minutes compared to last years usual 10 minutes is a pleasantly large improvement. I wanted to orienteer better then at West Point and CSU. I believe this was the case. Another positive note, I felt especially sharp in this segment of #12. Although I could have been more direct, I had no trouble precision orienteering through the vegetation. This I believe is because of the many hours of head scratching I've been doing in the fields surrounding Ottawa mapping for the OOC. I am happy with my race.
Over the weekend I was especially impressed by the performances of Robbie and Jordon. Robbie with his fast sprint and respectable long, Jordon for beating me in every race. I am looking forward to the next A-meet we race again, I really enjoyed the Buffalo O-festival.
