Road ride with Aleck and some riders from work. First time from George Washington Bridge to top of bear Mountain. Really a fun ride. There there dozens of other riders on 9w. It is the most polular bike route in the area.
Plan was to ride back to the bridge but we started to run out out of time and one guy was totally bonked so we cut it short at Nyak. Liisa loaded 5 of us and the bikes into the mini van and drove us back to the cars.

road ride 1 [3]

rest and fuel up for death ride tomorrow. Back of knee is OK (Barely). I will have to be very careful and also dope up with pain killers so that I can ignore the damage I will be doing to the tendon when I push hard. Thats the right thing to do, isn't it?

GYM (TRX) 45 [3]

45 minutes with about vigorous 12 exercises. Very solid full body conditioning class.
Its been just 1 year since I had the first symptoms of nasty Lyme disease.
I would say I am 95% cured. One of several benchmarks for recovery has been how many push ups I can do. Even as recently as December, I could not do even 1 because my shoulders were still stiff and still inflamed. Today I did 3 set of 10 all in reasonable form. Huge improvement!!
For me, aggressive antibiotic doses for two months and huge doses of anti-inflammatories seem to have done the job. Regular exercise has also made a big difference. I still have occasional stiffness but I dont need any more meds and the stiffness frequency is going down month by month..
I told my doctor that some friends with Lyme have said that they never fully recovered. She said - rubbish, you will fully recover. I am starting to believe her.
