Gym 2:40 [3]
slept:8.0 weight:162.4lbs

80 squats. Matthew has inveigled me into a squats program, although now that is ve seen his technique I am not all that impressed. Anyway, 80 today, building to 250 at the end of the month. They are pretty useful, and I could definitely see doing a lot more, but 80 today was the deal.

Extended family walk at Lake McDonough. Matt, Hua, Tai and Rocky joined me and Rhonda and Sassy. Some extended stick throwing, pretty interesting. Rocky is not a swimmer, but wants the sticks that Sassy swims out to retrieve, waits for her at the shore and wrestles them away. He is stronger, but she gets tired of that and figured out how to play keep away, continually tuening so he can’t get his mouth on them. Very entertaining.

Tai is a pretty fine hiker for a young fellow, not quite two yet.

In the gym with Eric. No weights today, just rolling and stretching and more stretching and some planks. Back very sore today, too sore for anything at all strenuous.

Gym (Yoga) 30:00 [1]
slept:5.0 weight:163.4lbs

Half of Rhonda’s morning class, as we had to leave early for NY.
5 PM

Hike 57:39 intensity: (23:06 @0) + (31:04 @1) + (5 @2) + (3:24 @3) 2.14 mi (26:56 / mi) +75m 24:17 / mi
ahr:86 max:114

Thought I might try to run at the track, but realized before I got there that a) school is now in session and there would be kids all over it playing soccer and whatnot, and an elderly gentleman shuffling around the perimeter would not be a welcome addition and b) I was really much too tired. So instead I waited for our houseguest Fazli to return fro his engagements and took him and the dog to the lake, as Rhonda couldn’t go today.

with the dog and Rhonda at Lake McDonough, including some stick throwing.

Pretty punk after getting home late last night, but no worse than expected. Generally got better physically each day while away and certainly felt better at the end than at the beginning.

We had quite a nice time at the Rocky Mtn O Fest, and Rhonda was probably the most enthusiastic I have seen her about an o-meet, asking if we could come back if they have it next year.

The whole experience was particularly nice sharing a house with George and Leslie, Dennis, Sarah, Andy and Forrest. A really fun bunch of people to be with. Also very cool seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in quite a few years, including Gene Wee, Fred Zendt, Al Newman, many others.

Rhonda tried to talk her way past the young men manning the gate at the University of Wyoming football game, but they were too clever for her. The team lost, alas. We did see the stands full of people in what I mistakenly thought were yellow shirts. I now have learned that they are "game day gold", and not yellow at all.

Home today and had the traditional heirloom tomato and cucumber sandwich, verifying that it is still summer here. Delicious.
