cycling 2:33:21 [3] 36.27 mi (4:14 / mi)
weight:166lbs

Longest ride of year, and most difficult, I think. From West Simsbury over 309 to 179 then up to Granville and E on 57 a bit, then back through Granby. Started in W Simsbury to get the hills out of the way first. Ended up going close to George's house, but too tired to stop by and say hello.

Running (trail run) 31:00 [2] 2.75 mi (11:16 / mi)
weight:164.5lbs

Art Sweeton loop with Hazel. Gingerly, as I was feeling pretty depleted on second fast day for some OP work this afternoon. Checked up on the culvert. Firming up a bit there, and maybe I can finish grading around there this weekend. Then on to the next one.

cycling 1:36:49 [3] 24.35 mi (3:59 / mi)
weight:169lbs

From home and up Sandy Brook Rd, picking up Rhonda along the way, then back to Stanclift cove, where she had parked the car. We were going to kayak, but it was kind of late and kind of cloudy and we blew it off.

weight:165.5lbs

Quite a lengthy backhoe session - about 5 hours or so. cleared the stumps from the new trail past the bridge, then E on Derby Rd to the low spot and dug out a big ditch and put a culvert in. Dirt was kind of greasy, and I couldn't drive on it after I covered the culvert, because I just sank in too much. Will let it set for a week to see if it dries out/firms up. If not, I'll put some geotextile over it and get some better dirt. Limited tolerance for diesel fumes and vibration. Pretty tired now and don't feel like doing much. Nice that Rhonda came down with a sandwich and a drink.

cycling 1:59:00 [3] 26.5 mi (4:29 / mi)
weight:165.5lbs

A strange and jangly ride. Down from the house to meet Rhonda at Stanclift cove, where she had parked the truck. Then we took a loop around Pleasant Valley to Riverton and back. On the way we planned I would take a little extra loop and meet up with her at the cove. Then I ran into my friend Al and chatted him up for a bit, and since he was headed back, I went with him, theoretically only 10 minutes behind Rhonda. So I get there, and no sign of her. No bike, truck is locked up. I ask the folks there if they've seen a lady on a bike but no one's seen her. So back down to Pleasant Valley and ride around looking, and then back to the Cove again, and still no sign of her. Then I'm in a panic and decide I have to go home to get a car and a cell phone and go on a hunt for her, since she has the keys to the truck. Up the nasty devil's elbow and get her car, back to the cove - now a lot of time has gone by, and - - - there she is. Apparently she had been there the whole time, and had parked her bike behind the dumpster, and was out in the water when I came by. Pretty frazzling, but all's well than ends well.

Orienteering 18:55 [4] 1.76 km (10:45 / km)

Short sprint - test driving the course before the gang got there.

Orienteering 31:42 [4] 2.55 km (12:26 / km)

long sprint - testing the course, moved one flag a little.

Orienteering 2:00:00 [1]

Control pickup, including 5 minutes hunting for my glasses after a branch whipped them off. Nice to find them, particularly since it was getting dark.
