NOY 8 at The Chimney. legs feeling yesterdays effort today, especially on the hills. didn't feel like i had much go at all. 2 mistakes cost me, on number 11 where i lost confidence when i hit the unmapped termite mound and didn't see the control around the green and number 13 where i was literally 5 metres away from it before i lost confidence and turned back down the creek. lost a combined 3 mins all up on those two and lost by 1:28 all up. few other small errors but not really as significant as those two. was a really good course, i just didn't have the speed today

Inaugural Blackbutt Parkrun. everyone i spoke to with gps got 250m over so the course is a bit long. started well at the front and knew the first small climb would sort people out. didn't feel too promising on the first small pinch for me. worked my way into 3rd place and tried to push on the sharp hills up Blueberry Burn. downhill was ok but struggled alot coming back up the same way even though the gradient was quite steady. had a bit of a kick near the top. tried to push really hard on the downhill as i could hear someone catching me. he powered past me just inside richley reserve and began to stop at what he thought was the finish line but it was actually a bit further. because he was spent i was able to kick on and take 3rd, but 1st and 2nd were well in front, and 1st was a 13yr old kid!
bit hard to compare to other parkruns due the course length being longer, thought i handled the hills ok though. hopefully they shorten it in the coming weeks

ride around maitland. tried mounting my gopro on my handlebars but there was too much vibration from the bumps, and only looked good when the road was perfectly smooth, which was pretty rare. need to dampen the vibration somehow, otherwise it would look awesome. might see how the helmet mount goes next time
