set alarm this morning for parkrun. alarm went off. must have drifted back off because woke abruptly at 7:33. about a 25 mins drive to parkrun if you get a good run on the lights. decided didn't want to risk going all that way and just missing the start so went back to sleep. pretty disappointed because i was looking forward to it. anyway did my own 5k in the arvo along brush farm road. much harder when just running by yourself. reasonably happy with time as was on a full stomach from lunch as well. certainly noticed the lack of the extra zip i get in a real race.

run between uni and work. home late from finishing assignments so didn't get to ride as i'd planned. didn't want anything too hard and only had 25mins spare so just went out on cruise control. nice sunset and moon rising

dunno how i can feel so ordinary running one day and so brilliant the next. didn't eat very well today but didn't seem to effect me. strange. just felt fast without trying very hard. shoes are beginning to feel amazing as i wear them in.
fairly sure thats a new pb for that running loop too, haven't run it for a while but used to run it all the time back in 08, 09

first chance i've gotten this week for a run. turns out no breakfast = no energy and i struggled badly after 20 mins. mixed feelings about new shoes, the support is different and will have to adapt. they felt pretty good on the road though

shoes: Inov8 x talon 212 #2

NOY 2A on Brush Creek West. Never been to the west so was interesting. made the error of going straight through some bad green on the way to 2 and 3 which was slow. at 3 I was too high and overshot slightly to the car wreck. 4 was terrible, crossed 2 creeks then thought I was running on the right line to cross the next creek into it, the creeks seemed to match although it felt a little odd, wait why can I see powerlines?! lost maybe 90 secs here. Kas had told me he was starting 2 mins behind so i was looking over my shoulder a lot thinking he'd be all over me. got 5 and 6 fine, then got dragged down a bit low to 7 but was able to contour into it well. back on the normal brush creek map now and didn't have any other issues although I could have run straighter in some places. Didn't feel like i was running as strongly as the previous weeks either which was strange. got to the finish to see Kas standing there bent over like he'd just finished, thought bugger he must have got through me at #4. but no Kas had done the Short without telling me and had been finished for a while! distance is kinda a guess, started my watch after 3 mins in.
