Orienteering (US Champs Day 2 M45+) 1:14:12 [5] 8.39 km (8:51 / km) +295m 7:31 / km
spiked:11/13c

Second good run in as many days - the first time I've managed to land on the podium (3rd) at a US Champs since I was a junior (that would be 1978)!
A very similar run to the day before - with slightly better execution and less accountable mistakes. Shaky on #2 (came in way high). From #9 to finish, I beat all others on RedY - really pushed it. Even though I was 5th on the day, I felt this was my better day.

Orienteering (US Champs Day 1 M45+) 1:18:57 [5] 8.21 km (9:37 / km) +325m 8:02 / km
spiked:14/16c

After a shaky start on #1 (lost one minute), I settled in and ran a focused race. #9 was squirrely and I bailed out to the road 75 m short of the control, lost ~2 minutes there. Three minutes mistakes, another minute or two on shaky execution. My best run since Wyoming.

Trail run (Harmon Pond) 34:54 [3] 2.9 mi (12:02 / mi)

"Tapering" for US Champs - trying not to aggrivate hamstrings and calves.

Trail run (Blueberry Hill Loop) 52:00 [2] 3.4 mi (15:18 / mi)
ahr:141 max:164

Lots of twinges and twangs from creaky muscles and IT band (R). Ran very slowly. Right calf is not ready for heavy work. Ran very slowly
