Note

Took Hippie camper to Mascot after 25 days usage.

Had lunch at Chinatown (cheap, tasty and extrmely filling). Made use of Masters accreditation to leverage free transport back to newcastle via CityRail network. Wished I had free transport all the time.

Third day of Blue Mountains Challenge

Had spent the morning at the starts for WMOC, setting up and then at map distribution. Fairly tiring and intense so maybe it impacts on my actual race performance as I had a terrible run adding at least 8 minutes of mistakes.

Some were plain stupid, running up wrong spur when my compass should have warned me. I'm starting to think my old bubbled compass (I have lost my Spectra Jet) is not working properly as I ran off of my bearing on several occasions by quite some distance (or angle)

Overall I liked the area, even better than the northen end of Clandulla but struggled physically. You'd think all the events would be helping my fitness and maybe they are but they have really fatigued my body.

Warmer weather at last. I suppose if we were to have only one good weahter day it was lucky it was today for the presentations.

Note

Rest day.

Slept in...
Yabbied at our accomodation and actually caught one, later releasing it unharmed.

Went to Kandos and Rylestone op shops and bakeries.
Sourdough $6.50 at Bizzy Birds was worse than Woolies.

Dinner at "the Shed"

Second Run of Blue Mountains Challenge.

Weather much better.
Had a reasonable run but still mucked up one control (2-4mins)
Not sure about my route choices.
Found the initial legs quite physically gruelling.

Area a little thick in places and loose underfoot, open in others and reasonably challenging technically.

Had camped overnight at start area after set up the afternoon prior.
Spent most of my time on map distribution.
