City Walking 1:20:00 [2] 8.0 km (10:00 / km)

From home through Kings Park to the City to collect a card from the bank, not sure why they could not post it out. Then across to North Perth and then up to West Perth for a meeting.

Nasty, smelly and noisy Petrol-Bike went by near City West Station way to quickly for the path.

Kept a good pace so a guess on the distance

MTBO race (State Long Champs) 1:31:17 [4] 18.05 km (11.9 kph) +347m
shoes: Avanti Mountain Bike

A lost opportunity to double up on yesterday's success.

Lost a few seconds straight after the start when the chain came off.

#1 straight forward along the track and turn in, was #8 from Day 1 so knew where to look
#2 up and around near the top of the hill, turned off onto a crappy track might have been quicker past the tower. down steep overgrown track, very slow and crashed at one point.
#3 - here was the screw up with a major 180 heading back to #1 but along the conveyor which was a horrid track, made it nearly the whole way to #1 before I worked out my error! Considered a DNF but decided not to be a wimp. Saw Rob West on the way back across, not via the conveyor this time and down to #3 - lost about 20 minutes to Rob on the splits. About an extra 4km!!
#4 overshot the track junction so went around and back, saw Jack Dowling coming out who was surprised to see me, but it was a confidence booster for me and a target to push to catch him
#5 took the long route back past the finish and it was a couple minutes quicker than the more direct route relative to Rob
#6, #7, #8, in and out along the side of the pines and then push hard back along the road to the finish.

Lucky to hang in for 3rd behind Rob West and Rob Beattie

Good fun weekend and two OWA wine glasses to add to the collection
