Road Cycling 20:00 [3] 8.0 km (24.0 kph)
shoes: Piave Bike

No real showers just some light misty rain. UWA was back with students flooding the underpass and as usual can't hear due to ear pieces and no eyes except for their smart phones. Must be time for the GOM in me to come out

... 2nd race of the weekend started really well, this time 2 minutes behind Noel and caught sight of him going to 5 and caught up to him at 7 then it went to s**t. We were both looking at each other and I knew he was going too far right but still drifted right and we end up east of the control on a bare rock, clearing and cliff. Should have been plenty to relocate but with my glasses steamed up and running too hard I thought I was NW of the control and headed SE and spent 10 more minutes than Noel.

Was rescued by Ian Fletcher when I got back in the circle and was still not confident of where I was. All the others controls on both days worked - there is always one that gets you!!

Splits will show it was one that got away

Nav Dash at Christmas Tree Creek, JFNP.

Not been on this map before, nice little old paddock on the edge of the park. Headed off behind Andrew Martin and thought when I turned over the map why did he go over the top of the knoll at the start, so I caught him at number 1 and we were never apart after that and swapped the lead a couple of times. Generally pretty clean through the whole course will no significant mistakes

Pleased to have come 8th, definitely my best result in a Sprint this year. I think the bush setting works for me, until the next day...
