Orienteering Meet 2:59:39 [5] 11.4 km (15:46 / km) +3180ft 11:03 / km

O in the Oaks long. This race kicked my ass. I was close to nailing the first long control (over three drainages), did not recognize my mistake for ~18 minutes. This screwed with my confidence, then was slow for a number of controls, got back on target, then around the 1:45 mark, I started to get really silly. I did not have food with me and picked up water here and there. It was hot and things stopped making good sense. I was stuck at a control I spiked because I was not convinced it was the correct control number, but was right where the map said it would be. This was just under 2 hours and I had 12 controls to go. I was so worried about the 3 hour cut off. I had never missed a cut off - DNF'd in my life. Luckily, the terrain opened up so despite some long controls, I was able to make distance and had maybe 4 controls to go with 15 minutes. I took some chances, lost a little time here and there and got the second to last control with 2.? left. I bombed down this huge grassy hill with reckless abandon - crashed down once, luckily tucked into a roll and popped right back up, made sure I still had my punch, and got to the finish with 21 seconds to spare. I am amazed I made it down the hill that fast and before the cut off. I had very real doubts that it was possible with an hour to go. Very impressed that the top finisher was under 1.5 hours. It is not too often that I am over 100% longer than the top finisher. I am happy I took the challenge of the longest and hardest course. Nice challenge. Maybe I will have to do 40+ male for the next race. I was not ready to do the 40+ male course since I still have 2 months. :)

Feet are a total mess. Two weeks of off trail, blisters, etc. Terrible.

Orienteering Meet race 58:40 [4] *** 5.7 km (10:18 / km) +1100ft 7:57 / km

O in the Oaks middle distance. Pretty good race for me. No major mistakes, lost time here and there. Orienteering was pretty simple - not the best set up for the hard long race to come on Sunday. Best part was hitting a road section and pulling away from the crowd I had been with for the remainder of the race.

O in the Oaks, sprint. Totally screwed up the first control and then got some rythm. Not a good race really, after sitting in the car all night...

Weight/Circuit Training 1:00:00 [3]

Fitness class. Mess of stuff capped off with 100 wall ball shots with the 16 pound medicine ball. Not aweful, but it really hit me 45 mintues later. My legs were trashed. I am weak.
