Walking 2:10:00 [3]

Chubb trail from West Tyson to Lone Elk. Very fast pace fro group of 8 led by Barb of Let's Hike group.

Richard Ruid sighting! (He noticed I was carrying an O' map.) He runs Chubb every Sunday AM. No time to talk much - too hard to catch up to my group.

Then drank coffee and read paper at Lone Elk - real close-ups of elk and bison. Very short hike.

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]

Monarch Levee ride with Recreational Cyclist group - fantastic ride including T, Ossenfort, Wild Horse Creek, Fox Creek, Allerton, etc. Perfect temp, sunny, light northerly breeze.

In terms of pace and rolling hills, my strongest ride so far - felt great. Almost recorded level "4". group dynamics a bit odd - riders kept joining and falling off pace - fun.

Running 30:00 [2]

So close to Babler - why not a trail run? From VC, mostly ran the equestrian trail. Net down hill since at goal of 30 minutes I stopped and walked uphill off-trail. But I did run-walk several uphills.

Guy I met had a load of oyster mushrooms. Off-trail, I looked and found one huge set at base of tree. Took largest ones, left half. Yummmm... tonight.

Walking 15:00 [2]

Uphill back to VC at Babler.

Cycling 2:35:00 [3]

RT to FVCC to listen to Underwood Lecture by Dean Curry and see 'old' friends start their newest semester. Ride was definitely easier than it was 6 months ago.

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]

Columbia to Valmeyer loop with STLRC. About 10 of us - nice group.
Lightly traveled roads except for Bluff Road - but several roads were oiled and chipped not too long ago.
Cool and stiff wind.

Cycling 2:30:00 [3]

Home to Soulard (can't resist the peaches, apples, tomatoes) to Langton's in Kirkwood and back home. Long, pleasant urban ride. Got lost once leaving River de Peres trail - met nice pair of lemonade sellers!

Orienteering race 41:00 [4]

Andrew designed nice first course at Laumeier - good job! Several good route choices.
For the most part, I read ahead quite well. A couple frustrating errors on such familiar grounds.
From 12 to 13, I climbed through woods and took high trail. Checked off #5, then couldn't find small trail. No Plan B, so just pushed through woods - hit road and bounced back (-3 min?).
17 was so obvious and 'near end' that I did not plan 16->17. Went form 16 to finish first instead of direct to 17. Ugh. (- 1-2 min)
7->8: in order to avoid climb and rough open, I went low and left to stream. Down stream was slow and seemed to take 'too long' to get to 8. More frustrating than lost time (-1?)
