Run long 1:42:00 [2] 18.0 km (5:40 / km)
Wheee! I was a bit scared of this run, not at all confident I could survive a long run because that half marathon and its terrible terrible pain is still fresh in my mind, but I had to do something long to make up for not doing the long ride today. Started with Dave Eltringham's group but they split up pretty quickly, and I trotted at the back with Jo and Brownie. It was a lovely scenic run, there were industrial estates, winding country roads, art galleries, harbours, wetlands of international significance, suspension bridges, endless white beaches with clear turquoise water, lots of entertaining conversation, not a breath of wind and a perfect cool morning. My legs felt GREAT, I could have kept going for ever. The bit I enjoyed the most were the big steps up the Woody Lake walking trail, weird. Just felt strong. Brownie and I had a sprint finishat the end, then I jogged back for Jo. She wouldn't stop at the coffee cat though, had to run to the end of the car park to make it up to 18km. GPS junkies...
Afterwards we had a quick swim, a coffee in the sunshine and threw a huge mallee root for Graham Jacobs' dog.
I really like running after that. Home by 7.45 too, amazing. T1 and T2 in good form this morning, they were having some kind of head-banging competition.
Maybe I will run again one day.
