Roadie (Tour de Esperance) 1:35:00 [4] 50.0 km (1:54 / km)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

A road race! Full of pelotons and scandals and big bunches of jostling riders except not for me, because I was all by myself. It was a handicapped race (in more ways than one) and he roadies didn't think I looked like I could ride (and said so too) so I got sent off first. I managed to keep up with a few other mis-handicapped roadies for 15 km, but when they dropped me I was left alone, waiting for another group to catch me but no one did. Very lonely ride except for a smile from my support crew every lap (only one smile because half my support crew were sleeping).
But it was great to push hard on a bike, and most of the people were friendly. I think I would do more roadie races if it weren't for the roadies, who put me right off.
There was a trophy too, I had my photo taken with it and then it went back to kalgoorlie.

Windtrainer (attempt) 20:00 [2]
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

It occurred to me that I could do a windtrainer if Edmund was happy to entertain himself, but I probably shouldn't have picked a day when he had been grizzly all morning and wouldn't let me put him down.
I think he misses his grandparents! Oh and those new teeth probably aren't helping.
He lasted almost ten min playing in the back of the ute, then 2 min sitting on the handlebars (actually that would've worked fine for ages but I couldn't pedal very hard) and 10 min in the pram watching me.
I did a warmup, one almost 5 min hard effort and a few 1min very hard efforts. Then we went back to crawling on around the loungeroom floor, dismembering newspapers, squealing at the cat and vomiting on things. Important developmental activities, I'm sure, but less training benefit than I would've liked.
