Rode to Matilda bay for great/grand/mother's day shenanigans. It was a really technical MTB route and complex nav so just as much fun as MTBO, haha. Slowed down from my blistering pace towards the end of the ride when I found myself surrounded by nieces on pink bikes.

Orienteering race (Nav Dash Guildford) 25:00 [3]

I carried a GPS around the course today, but I don't want to take things too quickly so I didn't turn it on. Next time perhaps...
Not sure about time until the results come out because of not turning on the GPS and also losing my splits printout before I had even looked at it.
Enjoyed my potter around, and I think having drawn the original map and also seen the course and examined it in detail a few days beforehand perhaps made the nav easier. Thanks Shane, good fun!

This was a major breakthrough, I did the whole warmup and cooldown with the group for the first time, and most of the session too. Hooray for John being injured!

In 2008 I ran these "at 3/4 pace" because I was 2 weeks post Keen race, and was running 2.30ish. In June 2009 I ran them all just under 2.30.
