Roadie intervals 1:05:00 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (25:00 @2) + (20:00 @4)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Yay I made it out the door! 4 x 5min on 5 min off while danger and Dolf did their longer intervals. Legs a bit tired from yesterday but enjoyed being out there. Almost got killed by a truck, who obviously thought I was tRicky.

Note

Getting twitchy from lack of exercise. Can I log twitching? T2 would.
12 PM

MTB 1:09:00 [3]

Oh boy, how to log a lunchtime pootle through kings park on my mum's bike?? Is that even loggable? Not a roadie but too many roads to call it MTB.
I got confused by a huge bit of manicured lawn where i'm sure there was previously a road, and lots of paths with 'no bikes' signs where I'm sure there previously were none. I also got bogged in some sand when I forgot there is now a lot of lifeless blubber where there previously were quads.
Great view, on the plus side, and a lovely day for being outside.

Note
(sick)

Can I log 4 hours of drinking tea at grandmas thanks to some poorly timed marathon napping from the little darling?

Note

No riding for over a week now :-(
1 PM

Orienteering 25:00 [2] 3.5 km (7:09 / km)
(sick)

Not sure about time. Feeling awful, dizzy and hot and shivery and completely fed up but I said I'd wake up controls so wake up controls I did. At a very slow plod. Declined to stay for the AGM, where John wanted me to stick up my hand and nominate him for yet another year of excessive stress and late nights :-p

Wednesday Mar 23, 2011 #

Windtrainer 50:00 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (15:00 @2) + (20:00 @4) + (5:00 @5)

Played on the spin bikes without a spin class, and worked much harder than I would've in a spin class.
Warmup, pyramid
5 x (4min hard, 1min really hard) with 2min recoveries. Was holding 150W for the 4min and 250W for the 1min. I remember the days when I could hold 260W for a 4min effort. I'll be back...
Cooldown.

Burned 300 and something calories, hooray!

Swim 20:00 [2] 0.8 km (25:00 / km)

6 PM

Walk 1:00:00 [2]

Only worth logging a walk because I did 6 reps of the SAS sandhill with 6kg strapped to me, which actually felt like exercise. Also down to the beach and back, and up the long, overgrown and spider-infested track to the sandhill which was perhaps not the best idea.

Roadie hills 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Planned a longish ride but wasn't motivated enough, so I did hills instead to make myself do some work.
Durston, Kalinda, 8x Reabold, Kalinda, Glenelg. Glenelg as usual was much harder than any of the reabold efforts.
9 PM

Cleaning (black goo) 10:00 [5]

I came up with a simple-sounding plan to take the flat pedals off John's Gary Fisher Flumpcycle and put them on my Yeti. Unsurprisingly, touching something as simple as the pedals on one of John's bikes produced so much horrid black goo that before I could continue I had to extensively degrease the pedals, my hands and forearms, and even the pedal spanner, before any of the above could go near the Yeti. It took two whole rags, after one got overwhelmed by the black goo. Eventually the black goo receded slightly and the plan worked out, although I did have to enlist some muscle to get one pedal off the Yeti. (Apologies to John for ringing Danger to ask him for help before asking John to try. I had to promise to tell everyone how strong and manly he turned out to be, against all my expectations, which I am now doing...)

6 PM

Run 20:00 [2]

At mcgillivray. I managed to do the warmup, run throughs, and then later a cooldown. Fantastic training, I'll be fit in no time.

6 AM

Roadie intervals 1:10:00 intensity: (38:00 @2) + (10:00 @3) + (22:00 @5)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

More intervals with (well, near) Danger. Really nearly didn't go but felt pretty good riding.
1,2,3,4,5,6 min efforts with 1,2,3,3,3,3 min recoveries. Extra 1 min hard at the end when I had some extra time. Barely made it home up the last hill!

Wednesday Mar 16, 2011 #

10 AM

Windtrainer (Spin) 50:00 [3]

At TTAC. I notice Edmund hasn't been logging his crèche visits, presumably because he has yet to open his eyes in the crèche, probably doesn't even know he's been there.

Run (Grass farm) 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)

Last time I ran at the grass farm I walked, so this could only be an improvement! Goal was to keep up on the warm up, which I did. Then I slowed down a lot for the first rep so that I'd have a hope of surviving a second, which I also did, although the second rep was a min slower due to walking most of the big hill.
Good fun. Felt wrecked after so maybe I'm starting to get fit :-)
Bailed on rep 3 along with everyone else, to rescue john's mum from my perfectly behaved child, as it turns out.
Oh and my two loops were 13.02 and 14.03

Sunday Mar 13, 2011 #

9 AM

Roadie 1:46:00 [3]
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Around Herdsman to the city, across the Windan bridge, back across the causeway and around the river to UWA then home the slightly long way. Completely random route choice and partly altered by a flat tyre, but I got to see what I assume was a corporate tri on riverside drive. Very entertaining, except for the idiot spectators all over the bike path.

Orienteering race (Nav dash brigadoon) 30:00 [3]

Brilliant fun course on juffy's lovely new sprint map. It was my first bush sprint and the scale really threw me, but only made one really decent error by skipping a control and having to go back, and another by not going far enough on the long leg. Otherwise was just slow and careful. Good fun.

Roadie intervals 1:02:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (26:00 @3) + (16:00 @4)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Another great morning for riding bikes....
3 x 5min on 5min off around the challenger loop. Another 1min effort after the end to fill in some time.

Windtrainer (Spin) 55:00 [4]

A spin class, the next step towards becoming a fully-fledged western suburban housewife. It was quite hard work though, and the closest you can get to riding a bike within range of the TTAC crèche. Next I have to figure out how to do it without my makeup running.

Tuesday Mar 8, 2011 #

11 AM

Swim 20:00 [2] 0.8 km (25:00 / km)

These Claremont pool mornings are getting longer and longer and involving progressively less swimming and more coffee and muffins.
6 PM

Run warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Run race (Golf course TT) 27:36 [4] 5.0 km (5:31 / km)

Hooray! I was aiming for 30min, and to only walk up durston. In the end I ran the whole thing and cracked 28min, making it more than 20min quicker than my last time of 48something, 11weeks ago when I was 38weeks pregnant.

Monday Mar 7, 2011 #

9 AM

MTBO (Training) 1:00:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Yeti ASR

John wanted to do some glute exercises in the goatfarm carpark, so I took my bike along.
Dalto and shanel were there, dalto had set a reeeeeally good training exercise but it needed 4 people, so we waited for an hour or so but tricky never arrived. In the end we just had to cobble something together using a bunch of unmapped tracks and tattooed downhillers. Damn that tricky.

9 AM

Roadie 1:34:00 [3]
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Bike, bike....
Great morning for biking! Did the full recovery loop this time, and while it didn't feel like a recovery it is definitely getting easier, and I still managed to get up that last horrid Glenelg hill.

Orienteering (Curtain nav dash) 25:23 [3] 4.0 km (6:21 / km)

Fun course, thanks tricky!

6 PM

Run/walk 20:00 [2]

Not sure about the time. Did some drills and run-throughs while Edmund and tRicky did their core exercises, then after the others did their fartlek I did two lots of 5 x 30/30s walking the recoveries. Nice on the oval tonight.

Gym 1:20:00 [3]

Don't know how to log bikes and treadmills in the gym! Left Edmund in the creche for the first time and had a play with John's fancy trial exercise bike with a screen and little people and bikes to race. It apparently costs $6000 for the gimmick value. I think it would be cheaper to buy a normal programmable exercise bike and then also buy a Wii and strap the Wii thingys to the bike pedals. At least with Wii cycling you can ride off the side of the road. Why pay $6000 for steerable handlebars if they won't actually let you mis-steer?
Edmund did two monster poos for the creche ladies but otherwise slept most of the time and behaved reasonably for the rest. So they said - I expect they would say that about their boss's son whether it were true or not.

Swim 25:00 [2] 1.0 km (25:00 / km)

As per the Coach I did a few hard 50's just to make it seem a bit like exercise. I think I cracked 60sec for some of them too...
