Random loop to Claremont and back via all the hills I could think of. I also thought of doing reabold twice but my legs thought otherwise. Very sweaty this morning. Feeling more energetic on the bike than a week ago.

1min jog 1min walk around the medium course. Started at random in a very bad direction and then built an even worse course from there. On the plus side, I got to sample most of the bits of the map. Not sore at all running, upper back sore later but probably not from running.
T1&2 had a lovely peaceful walk from what I heard.

Quick swim at Bold Park. Actually the swimming was pretty slow, the time from front door to front door was quick.

15 x 1min jog 1min walk. Taking it super easy and concentrating on form as per the Coach.
Felt great. Many thanks to Auntie Jess and her babysitting. Apparently she didn't get too many questions on her walk about the logistics of a four week old baby plus a 24week bump.

Took advantage of John's surprise late start at work and Edmund's surprise "I can sleep for the most part of 12 hours if I want to" effort.
Started with a few hills just to see. Durston, Kalinda, then the long side of Reabold which I'm pretty sure I've run up faster in the past. I didn't have to get off and walk which counts as a win. Then a lap of challenger and up the coast to Trigg and back. I was standing up in my small chain ring coming up Hale Rd at the end so I stopped to buy a newspaper and secretly for a rest :-)

Tried to do 15 x 1min run 30sec walk, but started getting sore upper abs after 12 so walked the last bit. Hard work into the sea breeze but great to be out there.

Went out for some fresh air after a long day. 30 sec jog 30 sec walk x 30.
Felt great, no niggles and wished that the running bits were longer, which I think is a good sign.

Might not sound like much of an adventure but it took guts to take a pram into a supermarket for the first time. Luckily Edmund did not scream, but stared confusedly at the side of the pram for the entire walk. Stopped for a bit at every old lady on the way.

Hooray for the cricket! I left T1&2 on the couch and did a lap of the old recovery loop. It didn't feel like a recovery loop today, though, even though I truncated the hilly end.
Riding bikes is so, so much fun. I don't think I ever really realised how much fun before. Not looking forward to my first ride with a speed-measuring device, which I expect will bring me back down to earth.
I had some other firsts though: first time in the big chain ring (for the homeward blast up the coast), first time passing a proper roadie (and first repass points, when I stopped at a pedestrian crossing), first time I was game to wear lycra, oh and I used the oven for the first time too this morning, and made my first post-baby cake. Not a baby cake. I used bananas.

Strapped the slightly disgruntled baby to it's slightly disgruntled Dad in th hope that one of them would fall asleep, and then had my first ocean swim since T2! Oooooh it was soooooo nice! And afterwards I LAY ON MY BACK on towel rather than sitting uncomfortably upright and being looked at disapprovingly by old ladies.

Laps around mcgillivray. Tried the baby carrier with limited success - he can't sleep that close to food! Next time I will either wear a wetsuit underneath or bring the pram.

Pootled around the bike leg of the first KillaSomething while John and Edmund wandered around endearing themselves to old ladies. Some of the sand dunes were a bit tough, and I had to avoid a lot of um, wild camels, cactus patches and, um, frozen lakes. But the course is fair and challenging enough and I had fun. I hope the stingy boundless boys print the maps bigger than A5 for the actual race!
GPS trace will be up for auction later in the week.

Random excuse to leave the house, we wandered around North Freo looking at other peoples' houses. There are some pretty houses, and some ugly houses, and some veteran cricket players in North Freo.

I rode a bike! A proper road bike for riding on roads! Didn't feel nearly as bad as I expected, even the uphill bits (although I was using an entire chain ring smaller than on past rides). Threw in a 1km effort on the service road for old times sake. Didn't time it in case I didn't crack 4min, but I did make it all the way to the end (with a tail wind) and then also made it up Hale Rd and home.
Oh that felt good :-)

Well, it is not really exercise but it is a start. Got a few odd little pains towards the end but enjoyed it otherwise. Nice to be out of the house.
