Myrup rd loop from home. I avoided the front, mainly because of the massive headwind in the first half of the ride, but partly to make sure I could finish. Didn't have much trouble keeping up though, which was encouraging.

Step 1 of my two step rogaine training programme!
Running club run from Castletown quays to bob's and back. I had a nice tailwind and someone to run with on the way there, and after that there was no way back to the car except to keep running. Took the first half very easy and then picked it up gradually on the way home. Felt suprisingly good, given it was my longest run in about 2 years and straight after my longest ride in 2 years :-)

Didn't feel like sitting in a wet paddock for hours with T2 so we stayed in Perth. I did get to run though, once the rain settled. Lovely out, and no other people for some reason.

I figured my only hope today was to avoid making mistakes in hopefully complex terrain - it was a bit complex but mapped well so it was hard to get lost and despite a few suboptimal route choices and one overshoot I was pretty clean. Just slow. Very slow, especially up the hills, and I can't understand why, because I tapered really, really well for this race. I've hardly trained for months and months and did nothing for a whole week, so I should've been really fresh.

With Gen to the hill after blue haven carpark and back. Good having someone else to keep me running, went a lot further than usual and ran all the hills. Good fun.

John was going for a long run so Edmund and I joined him for the first bit. We blobbed around the streets to wireless hill then down to the beach and along the sand for a while. At the top of the stairs we tried to say goodbye to John as he went off for the other 40min of his run but he followed us home.

It's been about 2 months since my last windtrainer session so I went back to the start, which is 2 sets of 5hard5harder. With a SCR pyramid w/u and a bit of a recovery between sets and a brief cooldown which ended abruptly when T1 and 2 appeared at the window looking traumatised.

The running club had a 15km race today. I wasn't up for that but it was in 5km loops so I joined the girls when they came past for the second 5km. Felt great, I think because it was so flat and there were people to chat to and I was not pushing a pram. I need to increase my distance soon. Perhaps I will do the half marathon that is on in 4 weeks. Or not.

Wow, I actually did something...
Strong westerly today so I rode into it along the coast to the windfarm, then turned around and flew home. Added the observatory hill in on the way back but it was still 8min quicker than the way out. Beautiful morning so there were lots of surfers, tourists, policemen, dog-walkers and bogans out there but didn't see any other bikes, I think I was too late for them.
Really enjoyed it, especially the way back when I could push a bit. The way there was a bit like doing leg presses at the gym.
