5 PM

MTB (Piggery pootle) 1:12:00 [2] 20.0 km (3:36 / km)
shoes: Yeti ASR

This was worth the trip just to see the sunset, and two laps of a nice track, one in daylight and one in the dark, were a lovely bonus. Thanks to john's parents for letting us go out riding together, which is a rare thing these days! Good fun.

Squash 45:00 [3]

Good fun :-)
4 PM

Run 20:54 [3] 4.0 km (5:14 / km)

Slow, slow, slow. Can't even blame the pram because I had People to push that for me. I blame my poor squash muscles which were in shock.

5 PM

Run 36:00 [3] 6.4 km (5:37 / km)

Home to Salmon Beach, back to West Beach to meet John's parents with the pram.

Run (Explore) 29:17 [2] 4.47 km (6:33 / km)

Day one of my step-up programme from 20min jogs to 12hrs of keeping up with tRickyesque nutters. Pace was more due to terrain and route choice than my legs, which felt good.

12 PM

Swim (Baby pool) 20:00 [0]

Up and down and round and round with Edmund. We did three laps of the whirlpool and played in the bubbles and wheeee it was fun! And loggable! No, really :-)

MTB (Piggery) 1:18:00 [3] 20.0 km (3:54 / km)
shoes: Yeti ASR

Hooray for babysitters!
4 PM

Run (Runners club thingy) 24:17 [4] 5.0 km (4:51 / km)

Hard work keeping up with John to the turnaround but I didn't slow down too much on the way back. Pretty happy with my time, even though it was dead flat.

Run (half pram) 31:00 [3]

Went running with half-a-pram. Or half went running with a pram. First John ran with the pram and I ran on the beach and teetered around the headland avoiding the large and scary swell. Then I ran back on the path while Edmund practised being a beanbag.

Windtrainer (intervals) 40:00 [3]

Session one of the training programme John wrote up for me (it took 5min, after 6 months of promising to get around to it.... :-p) which is similar to the one he's making up for himself based on the one he wrote for tRicky (note it didn't take 6 months to write tRicky's one :-p)

Um.

Warmup, SCR pyramind, cooldown, single leg stuff
2x(5min hard 5min harder)

Left the garage (teehee, garage) door open so I could enjoy the view.
5 PM

Run (pram) 30:00 [3]

Roadie (Scenic loop) 1:25:00 [3] 36.0 km (2:22 / km)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

Slightly faster than last time, can't work out why, I kept getting distracted by the view and forgetting to pedal. Another perfect day.

12 PM

Run (Pram) 25:00 [3]

From salmon beach towards home then back. Perfect day, wow.

Wednesday Jun 8, 2011 #

Note

Tour d'Esperance bike race or MTBO state champs?$33 entry vs air fares to Perth and back but so much more fun with a map...
7 AM

Run 19:45 [3]

Sand tracks towards wireless hill then along the beach path and home.

12 PM

MTB (Piggery) 1:06:00 [3] 20.0 km (3:18 / km)
shoes: Yeti ASR

Tried hard hard on the first lap, just under 33min. Then rode slightly easier but tried to be really smooth and not brake for the berms and jumps. 33min 30sec. Will try doing both next time!

Roadie (scenic loop) 1:28:00 [3] 36.0 km (2:27 / km)
shoes: Shiny carbon pro lite

A perfect, beautiful ride on a perfect day with great views :-)
Went anticlockwise so I had all the flat industrial stuff first and finished with the undulating coastal viewy bit. Hilly but not as bad as I'd been led to believe, and it ended all of a sudden when I was just having fun. Shame... Great to get out there.
4 PM

MTB (Piggery) 35:00 [3] 10.0 km (3:30 / km)
shoes: Yeti ASR

Just one lap, bit tired from the morning ride but motivated to try too

Run (pram) 23:00 [3]

Same run as the other night except this time without the hired help to push the pram for me, so it took a bit longer. John came home from work looking like he needed some proper training so we sent him off into the rain on his roadie. Edmund and I waited until the rain was finished before we headed off. Beautiful clear, crisp evening by then, great views and lots of little surfers bobbing in the ocean. Edmund was tired out from a whole day of crawling (crawling!) so he sat like a beanbag wrapped in 3 layers of clothes and a blanket and hung tightly onto his fluffy blue sheep.

Note

After taking a really really long time to figure out what was making me sooooo tired, I started back on iron tablets. Two days later, look at the difference in my log already! There's.... stuff on it.... Self-propelled stuff. Crazy.
1 PM

Swim 10:00 [2]

After Edmund's swim I stole some of John's lunch break and had a swim myself. I got bored very quickly.
As punishment, John forced me to cook scones for his lunch.
5 PM

Run 20:00 [3]

This was going to be my first pram run, but then John got home from work early and joined in. He only let me push the pram for about 2 blocks before he realised how un-manly he looked, running along next to me. So he took over for the hills and I complained not at all.
