Red at Morgan Territory! My parents and I were prerunning today and everything wasn't quite set up when we got there, so there was a bit of waiting around for maps and the start punch and stuff. Then we were sent off to go set up the start and start ourselves.

I was pretty sloppy on the first 2 controls, but managed to find them ok anyway. I then proceeded to completely bomb the third control. I spent 13 minutes flailing aimlessly around finding about 5-6 other courses controls. I think I actually ran right past my control, but there was a bunch of poison oak around it and I wasn't sure where I was and I didn't want to go into a big poison oak patch, so I went off and found a few more controls before finally relocating and finding my control. I told myself the course was going to be a lot more fun if I actually just found the controls, which miraculously actually calmed me down. The rest of the course was clean and super fun!

Running with Presto after the Joint Genome Institute conference! My talk went well today, and I know the rest of the week is going to be a bit of a nightmare what with 12 hour days at the conference + commuting to SF. So, even though I was feeling pretty terrible, I decided to go for a run. Things were ok for most of the run, but my stomach got really unhappy towards the end. I think the food they fed us at lunch today might have been off... Presto was at least happy to get out, so that was good since I imagine the rest of the week isn't going to be great for him.

Normal abs. I debated not doing these, but after lying on the floor for a minute or two, I decided to just go ahead and get them done.

Easy-peasy run with Presto! I wanted to get outside today but didn't want to work too hard. I also had to go into lab to move some cultures from one incubator to another, so we ran up the hill and then ran the long way all the way down to lab. The sun was shining and it was cool and the flowers were blooming and it was just generally wonderful. (Also running gently downhill for 25 minutes straight is fantastic.) Both Presto and I were feeling yesterday a bit. Presto was clearly tired going up the stairs to lab. We decided to walk back up the hill home from lab :-).
