Biking 1:20:00 [3] 19.0 mi (4:13 / mi)

Biked out to my rehearsal in Lexington along the Minuteman Trail. My bike felt all new and nice and quiet! It was so nice to be able to shift without lots of clanking and the chain coming off the derailer and to pedal without the chain rubbing against whatever it use to rub against. I was reminded of why people actually like to bike :-).

Running with SGB and Presto on the Blue Hills skyline trail. We did most of the trail west of the road and some east of the road. My legs felt pretty dead from the morning at the beginning, but then loosened up, and it was great to be out!

Frantic run to Broadway Bikes to pick up my bike from its tune-up before the bike shop closed in non-ideal attire. I felt kind of stupid (especially when it turned out I didn't need to sprint over there after all...), but now I have a nice fixed up bike! Woohoo!

Rehearsal was on Thursday instead of Wednesday this week, which unfortunately meant no park-o (yet again...) but did mean a nice run after a long day at lab. Presto and I had a great time. It was a 3 rabbit day, so Presto was happy :-).

Running with Presto after lab. We saw Clem running along the river, and he told me we were just in time to catch SGB after track, so we headed over there and got to say hello to Ross and Sam as well. Then SGB joined me for the rest of my run. We plowed through some geese and then Presto was on high rabbit alert, but I think they had been scared away by the rain. On the way back we stopped at Berryline and played with a really adorable golden retriever puppy. Fun run!

Red at Hale with Presto. My legs weren't really feeling like running when I started, so the first couple of trail legs were super slow, and I was having a hard time convincing myself that running through blueberries was what I wanted to be doing. Eventually I got the kinks out though and had a really good time out there, although I never really felt like running through the blueberry, so mostly I didn't. Presto was having an awesome time! We saw a HUGE snake at control 7. I'm pretty sure it was a black racer, so not poisonous, but it still kind of freaked me out especially because I wasn't really sure what Presto was going to do about it. I told him no, and then he jumped back from sticks for the next couple of minutes, which amused me. I had a couple of moments of confusion but no major errors - mostly I just wasn't moving very quickly.

After orienteering, I rushed to shower, change, eat (thanks SGB!), and get to my concert. Then I had to go into lab and by the time I finished with lab (twice - I forgot to do something in my haste to eat dinner the first time) and had dinner, it was late enough that I just wanted to go to bed. Anyway the point of this story is that I didn't do enough stretching today.
